‘Big Boy’ Jones... vomit
( Wonder what his ex, Alex Jones has to say about that).

Even funnier, Max asking “Why”.

Steve Jones is the biggest bell end on British tv. He's an unbelievably smug, arrogant, obnoxious moron who presents as if F1 revolves around him. C4 commentary team of Alex Jacques & DC are good, Lee McKenzie is very professional, knows how to present it's just an annoyance we have to put up with cretinous Steve Jones.
I wish Alex Jacques, if it is him, would calm down a bit. He gets so excited that I fear for his blood pressure sometimes. But the I am sick of screaming commentators in all sports programmes.

About ten laps in & spouting “it’s a classic Silverstone Grand Prix”.

I quite enjoyed CH4.
For those who think Crofty is too excitable, I found Alex J pretty calm and measured.
Obviously Sky have a much bigger budget and a huge F1 presence by comparison, but CH4 make an acceptable option.
Ok, adverts annoying, but not everyone wants the commitment of the Sky ‘pay to view’ premiums.

I only have ‘Freeview’... or Peasants TV, as I call it.

Having secured the F1 highlights contract for another three years the only negative for me is Steve Jones. I’m sure that there’s a better presenter than him for the programme. I’d love to see Lee take over the main role and another ex F1 driver. Jolyon Palmer, Antony Davidson or one of the other Brits who came up through F3 or F3000/F2.

I watched a few minutes. It was quite awful. DC and Webber are basically Red Bull and it shows. Went back to Sky and Brundle...

It's funny how we all have different positions. I can't stand the sky coverage and prefer , just , the C4 version once the race has actually started.

Yes I did wonder whether I should have gone back to C4 once the race had started. That would at least avoid Crofty.

I don't mind the Ch4 coverage but since discovering F1 TV & VPN, that's my go to coverage.

They should flash up a "do not adjust your set" warning when DC is on. He makes me want to change the brightness and colour balance of my TV.

The only bad thing is that the pre-shows on F1TV don't have "features" as such.

I agree that DC and Mark make it a bit Red Bull but do the other ex F1 drivers on Sky hang around their old teams ? I think that DC’s and Mark’s comments and feedback is voiced from experience and don’t know that other ex F1 drivers could be better.

At the end of the day we can be critical of them all with their opinions. Damon is now saying Mansell is the best F1 driver of all time. He was rough on his machinery in all categories. For years I listened to him coming down from Casino Square to the Tunnel in Monaco and he banged up and down the gears. Piquet in basically the same car was so smooth.

I thought it was a crap feature C4 did with the presenters dressed up as burglars trying to pinch the Silverstone cup. We don’t need that rubbish.

I agree with this. The screaming is just SO annoying. There's a terrible screamer on the Indy commentary team too, it's very annoying to have to regularly mute the TV.

I thought the commentators at the Silverstone circuit were quite good this past weekend, but spending £700 to avoid Croft is a bit steep.

Yes, I can see the Red Bull influence.
Danny R has just taken Steve Jones on a tour of the Red Bull Hospitality Unit.
Didn’t see this, but the RB hospitality you say… does that include catering…? scratchchin

I enjoy the C4 coverage over the Sky coverage. Crofty shouting grates me and it's the same inane questioning which doesn't glean any new info. At least Alex is genuinely enthusiastic about the sport and the insight from DC, Webber and even monger this time round was good.
