Well, in fairness, the Canadian pole position he just scored puts him level with Ayrton's record. And it seems that he'll match/pass Schuey's in due course.
Can't see him beating Schuey's WDC record, though.
No me neither. Not without the best car for year after year, and a team mate who is not allowed to compete against him, special tyres, special fuel, Ferrari International Assistance etc. Can't see him beating Schuey's WDC record, though.
Quite unlikey to happen.

Oooh, catnip to the haters
crikey, you over-sensitive guardian-angel-types really don't get it. No-one hates Lewis. In the car - a driving god. Out of the car - an utter berk. Folks just like to laugh at him when he does and says daft stuff.
Lighten up, chum.
Now observe .....

Lewis stating Bottas should get a long term Mercedes deal.
That would suit Hamilton "sorry Bottas"

I wonder if Bottas cringed when he read that, surely confirming LH views him as a perfect No2.Lewis stating Bottas should get a long term Mercedes deal.

It must be said, above everything to do with his personality and character, he's a bit fking good isn't he?
It's hard to admit as a Brit that we might have one of, if not THE best in the world at something, anything but honestly aside from Alonso being given another chance in a half decent car he's well above and beyond Vettel, Verstappen, Raikkonen et al.
The guy has a perfect ability to just pull out a dream lap when he needs to. Yes he's got the best car on the grid and has done for some time but you still need that innate ability to pull a worldy out of the bag when you need to and he does it nearly every time.

As well; his race craft is second to none; all things being equal; my money would be on Hamilton everytime in any wheel to wheel combat.
Let's not forget; that whilst Verstappen is obviously brilliant - Hamilton in his very first year in F1; pulled off some mind-blowing manoeuvres - I remember seeing some of his moves and just thinking 'holy st!' The way he kept Alonso honest - and would often beat him was nothing short of astonishing and there's been nothing like it since. Verstappen being the only one to get close. Hard to believe that was a decade ago now.

I don't think he has the best car this season. Just showcasing what haters don't like.
I think he has the fundamentally fastest car, it just has a much narrower window of setup. The Ferrari has a wider window on longer runs but lacks a fraction of pace, though the gap is MUCH closer than last year.He is also an outstanding driver.
Yet there are people out there (British people ffs) just waiting to pounce on anything they can find to put him down.
When pulled up on it they will often say 'I just think he's an idiot' and probably google a picture of him in a funny outfit. That's all they've got.
A bit pathetic really.
