Now Lewis to Indy for a year I would like to see.
It does seem that the older racers can remain competitive (?) so he has 10 years to consider it?
Lewis will only do Indy if he's in the best car. No value in breaking his tried and tested strategy in F1It does seem that the older racers can remain competitive (?) so he has 10 years to consider it?

What a skill he has to find himself in the best car; a strategy like no other!
He has timed his moves well to be fair. The easy thing would to have been to stay at McLaren, but he looked carefully at the assets that Brawn had, the Merc story and calculated he was better off there for a winning car in the new era...sparta6 said:

Hamilton is into his 11th season in F1. How many of those seasons do you think he had the best car? 2007 (but disqualified from the constructors), 2014, 2015, 2016? 4 seasons out of 11 then? 5, tops?

when he moved to merc.. they were dogs.. slow and barely able to finish races mid pack.
whilst at the same time in the mclaren he was more often than not finishing in the top 5
Sure... he bought into a vision from Ross. One can only assume that he compared the McLaren vision with the investments, Mercedes support and people and found the McLaren vision wanting... at least that is how I read it. whilst at the same time in the mclaren he was more often than not finishing in the top 5
Lewis Hamilton.......I took a look at the qualifying results. Fernando, in his first qualifying, came fifth. Does that say something about the level of Indy Car? To see him come fifth against drivers who do this all year round is…interesting.
Indy veteran Tony Kanaan didn't take all that kindly to what Lewis said, and came back with his own zinger
What can I say? Hamilton competed in a two-car world championship last year and finished last, so I don't think he can say much.
Good comeback lol!

It seems I'm feeding one now. This is a topic about Lewis. Seen all his stats? I imagine with your in-depth team and engineering knowledge you can say he's been gifted the best car and has no input in the cars development either. Like I said, he came bursting onto the scene in 2007 and made it clear he's very talented.

chum, you're not feeding anything except the perception that you may be daft in the nut. No-one, to my knowledge, denies Lewis is a genius driver. But he's not perfect, and is sometimes hilarious.Sa Calobra said:

Genuine question. Did Lewis help develop the 2007 McLaren or luck into a competitive seat?Doink said:

Good for TK; anybody pricking the self importance of F1 is good in my opinion.....Indy veteran Tony Kanaan didn't take all that kindly to what Lewis said, and came back with his own zinger

He does, though. Generally in a stupid faux mid-Atlantic drawl, with some bks about being "blessed".
He lives in the US. No surprise he has a mid Atlantic accent. So do I much of the time as I spend more time talking to Americans than Brits, although I live in the UK.And he believes in God. I don't but if he wants to and feels blessed then so what?
