He lives in the US. No surprise he has a mid Atlantic accent. So do I much of the time as I spend more time talking to Americans than Brits, although I live in the UK.

And he believes in God. I don't but if he wants to and feels blessed then so what?
Doesn't he live in Monaco?

For tax reasons, yes.

He has a house in Colorado where he lives in the winter, goes training up in the mountains.

He did spend a fair amount of time hanging out on the West Coast a while ago, not sure if he still does.

He has homes in Monaco, Colorado, Los Angeles, New York, and Switzerland.
'Officially' based in Monaco for fairly obvious tax reasons

I think he said that he bases himself there for Brazil, Texas, Canada and the summer break as well, but I may be mistaken and don't really care.

Colorado is very nice. Boulder would be my choice!

Michael Caine and Rod Stewart have spent tonnes of time living in the US, and yet not a hint of falling into a mid-Atlantic dribble.

Lewis Hamilton.......I took a look at the qualifying results. Fernando, in his first qualifying, came fifth. Does that say something about the level of Indy Car? To see him come fifth against drivers who do this all year round is…interesting.

Indy veteran Tony Kanaan didn't take all that kindly to what Lewis said, and came back with his own zinger

What can I say? Hamilton competed in a two-car world championship last year and finished last, so I don't think he can say much.

Good comeback lol!
Good for TK; anybody pricking the self importance of F1 is good in my opinion.....
Thing is ... LH is saying IndyCar must be easy if FA could qualify fifth for his first race, but LH qualified fourth for his first ever F1 race, so what is he inadvertently telling us about F1?

A certain IndyCar driver by the name of Jacques Villeneuve qualified on pole for his first ever F1 race.

Here we go again. Yes, he does. All international sports stars are taxed where they earn their money, not where they live. Therefore they all pay tax in multiple countries, including the UK. Dependent on his tax structure their may be a small advantage to living in Monaco, but not much.

How many British based employees do? Countless tax avoidance daily in umbrella schemes and Ltd company employees....

So if he lives in Monaco. Where does his pay check from Merc and his personal sponsors go?

Sure his winnings might be taxed where he wins them. But that's unlikely to be the vast bulk of his income.

Why the hate? Why the concern where someone gets paid? I've no idea where or how Vettel gets paid. He could be paid in Mamots for all I care. Alittle weird.

His pay check will be divided into 20 (if 20 races in the season), so 5% will be allocated to the UK, and 5% to each of the countries the races take place in. Therefore he will likely be paying more UK tax than you or I.

A nice idea but it's highly likely that his well oiled accountant can get his UK tax contribution down to single digits with creativity. Meanwhile his team of mechanics, who travel travel with him to each race, are almost certainly contributing their normal 20% tax etc to UK Treasury, unless they are domiciled in Monaco ofcourse !

It's likely is it?

How do you know? Sorry it's 'likely'. Stop.

How about the rest of the grid. Shall we guess what they do too?

Just stop this draining dragging down of the forum.

No draining of forum, just a mere objective viewpoint. If Lewis wanted to contribute his normal share, he would have stayed domiciled in Britain. Simple!

hehe presumably all the sanctimonious people boring on about tax would go to great lengths to ensure that they make full and proper contribution to the UK treasury and would never think about all of those millions they'll never see.
