"I noticed some white people in the crowd... you're white, I guess they're here for you, what do you think about that? what do you want to say to them?"
PC gone mad it is not.
There is nothing to think about. They were Hamilton fans who were from Jamaica. PC gone mad it is not.
Paranoia now makes sense.
how do you know there were there specifically for hamilton ?
are you saying Jamaicans can only be interested if they support hamilton ?
there are alot of casually racist assumptions flying about there

1. You clearly heard it being mentioned that they were from Jamaica.how do you know there were there specifically for hamilton ?

2. Clearly they stated they were Hamilton supporters or were waving Hamilton flags or banners. It is not hard to work out who someone supports.
3. Only Jamaica's can be interested in Hamilton. What just because he is black? Again just trying to make something out of nothing.
You are the one trying to twist words and quotes into someone else.
Pathetic.

Depends. If they have Vettle written on their flags, foreheads and t-shirts I'd probably make a different guess where their focus might be. I could be wrong of course and just a complete Alf Garnett racist thinking that they like the German and they're actually looking forward to seeing Massa.
However, the group Herbert was on about are known to Hamilton - although not close personal friends, they appeared to be a collection of fans Hamilton recognises from their continued travelling support.
fk me there are some people desperately trying to be offended on here.
Someone with common sense. However, the group Herbert was on about are known to Hamilton - although not close personal friends, they appeared to be a collection of fans Hamilton recognises from their continued travelling support.

Herbert did not mention skin colour, just nationality - probably information gleaned from country identifiers such as flags or t-shirt design or actually chatting with them. About ten percent of Jamaicans are not black. To automatically assume that every Jamaican is black is racist.
Next they will be stating Vettel is racist for hitting Hamilton in the race.Cold said:

Exactly. It's a little bit mad to be outraged at this, I feel. Dr Z said:

There is a lot being made of this Herbert / Hamilton 'racist' incident, The problem is we can't see what they could see from the parade truck at that moment so there's no point arguing the finer points of it. Slightly clumsy by perennial gobste Herbert but I don't think it's evidence of racism, for all we know the parade truck could've just gone past a huge group of Jamaican Hamilton fans brandishing gigantic Jamaica flags with 'Hamilton' printed across them etc.
when you live your entire life hearing backhanded racist comments that are "ment well" or otherwise. you know when you hear it.whether the person saying it believes their being racist or not.
its normally the "i have a black friend so im not racist" crowd

I don't really see how Herbert's comments have kicked off a racist argument.

Unless we know what Herbert actually saw, nobody has anything to say, one way or the other.

I've seen a few say it already, he's one of the best sportsmen in Britain and gets berated for his clothes and lifestyle, shouldn't we be celebrating his achievements and getting behind him, it seems the nation loves to hate success for whatever reason.
In fact being 25 myself I find him more in touch with my generation which is surely a good way to bring in new, younger fans which this sport desperately needs?
Glad he doesn't take on board all the negativity and hope he continues to win championships for years to come!

Similar thing happened when I met a Black Glaswegian man, I guess what I'm saying is rightly or wrongly as human beings we make assumptions everyday of our lives, JH made one on the TV that was prejudice in terms of thinking black people only support LH it was a booboo nothing more or less.
Now lets get back to LH wanting to set an example for the kids!!! That made me laugh out loud but it now shows the mind games have begun with LH out to an early lead.

Two very strong accents combined totally threw me.
But I agree that JH was in the wrong wrong, I disagree that he would see a crowd of white people and from a distance whilst on the back of a lorry be able to determine from over 100m+ away that those white people are Jamaican, whilst the white people next to them are not.

Even if those white people were waving Jamaican flags with "Lewis Hamilton" written across them? Two very strong accents combined totally threw me.

100m+ ? How do you know? And how do you know what JH and LH could or could not see from the truck? You do seem to be trying very hard here. will-frankland said:
