It was the Hamilton show alright... and whilst Vettel et al moaned and groaned on the radio as per; we witnessed a masterclass... half a second to the whole field in quali.

Cmon deadslow, elusivejim and the rest of the troll brigade... admit the genius that is Hamitlon behind a wheel.

We'll all chomp on popcorn whilst we wait hehe

And to those saying his partying affects his driving... hang your head in shame! rofl
It was a masterclass in a very fast car.

Bottas was as impressive again because the Mercedes was the car to beat all weekend.

BTW who is Hamitlon? biggrin

Joking apart he was untouchable at the weekend and deserved the win.

The fast car comment whilst true does his performance a disservice. To be half a second clear of the field (including his teammate of course) says a lot. Simple as that.

And Hamitlon is the evil arch nemesis of Hamilton. BAH! Damn iPhone typing...

I am sure we all know that Bottas is not on the same level as Hamilton.

Whether more time in the Mercedes will allow Bottas to close that gap will be interesting to see.

The Mercedes was clearly the fastest car at Silverstone as the track seems to be perfect for the car.

But this again can change in the next race back into Ferrari's sort of track.

But as you have said Hamilton was on fire at the weekend. No one can doubt that.

Even if we try biggrin

Hamilton was cruising around in the race. There is a bit, just before him/raikonnen stopped where you got to see his true pace. He pulled out the gap to Raikonnen from 4s to 8 or 9, I think, in 4 laps. His margin over his team mate in qualifying was massive. yes, the car is fast. But yes, Hamilton is making a difference. similar to Brazil last year, where everyone raved about max verstappen but didn't notice Hamilton (in front) doing even better (I think he pulled out 30s on his team mate, considering the safety cars constant resetting of it).

Yes, that was my point also; the car is fast but the margin Hamilton had over teammate and field is quite something.

As you say; it's a team sport... Hamilton has done / does everything he can and has been pretty much supreme in his driving - but the team have brought about mishaps; so what's your point exactly?

The Mercs were extremely fast at Silverstone, as confirmed by Bottas.

Although as a proud Brit, Lewis still has a German boss biggrin

I suppose none of the drivers should be proud of where they're from... given they all have bosses / teams of differing nationalities... someone better let Vettel, Alonso et al know! hehe

They have properly developed that car. Set themselves up years ago when they got the jump on everyone else with the new turbos, still reaping the rewards of all that investment. What happens when F1 teams play the long game.
