Lewis Hamilton
Discussion

I quite enjoyed the seat belts discussion from Japan. I guess this is what our new contributor is inspired by.
Grosjean has obviously decided to take digs at everyone, the establishment, the drivers at the front of the championship fight.... I guess it’s all so unfair. And I think Lewis, Seb and Charlie handled it very well (particularly Seb - who I still really like despite his couple of Falling Down moments this year.
Whiting: "We can clarify it if you really think it's worth it..."
Hamilton: "We're driving so slowly, man. But, I mean, maybe Sebastian should keep his on."
Sebastian Vettel: "Steering wheel or belts? I'm confused now."
Anyway, back to Lewis’s hair.
Indeed; that was a funny exchange! Grosjean has obviously decided to take digs at everyone, the establishment, the drivers at the front of the championship fight.... I guess it’s all so unfair. and he’s a Brit.
...for the moment. The best thing for F1 right now would be for him to emigrate to the US and race under the US flag. F1 needs a successful American driver for promotion.
I'm approximately 99% sure someone from Liberty has suggested this already.
It wouldn't make much difference to Lewis's lifestyle while he's in F1 (he already spends a lot of time in the US, owns a ranch in Colorado that is home for winter). He's already on record as saying he'll probably live there once he's done with F1.

He’s an Elite sportsman at the top of his game and he’s a Brit.
We should be celebrating and proud of him.
I think there is still more to come from him.
Sadly it's the British disease. People who are obviously perfect, never done anything wrong in their lives just having to pick fault in what other people have done and how they live their lives. If you happen to be seriously successful like Lewis, you have no chance. If he did nothing, said little but commented on F1/the race/Merc blah blah. he's be labelled a corporate robot. He's all over social media, we get an insight into his life, what he does, how he spends his time and what do we get... he's flash, up himself, a narcissist. Maybe he needs to be in the middle ground! Well that's not going to work either, because people would be waiting for him to make a wrong move, then pounce. We should be celebrating and proud of him.
I think there is still more to come from him.
It's a good thing Lewis is his own man and just leads his life.... which is really what we all should be doing..
Why do some on here what his every move, analyse and then have to slag him off... why does he bother them so much. Ultimately, I don't care but it's something I find fascinating. Anyone care to indulge me?

I thought that exchange started off with Lewis trying to play mind games with Seb, bringing up the steering wheel thing when Romain (in his position in the GPDA) responding with the seat belt thing to Lewis as a 'wind your neck in chap'...?
I think you’re right actually DrZ. Lewis brought up the steering wheel issue, and then left it with Charlie’s response.... Hamilton: "I heard that Sebastian didn't put his steering wheel back on."
Whiting: "Seb actually took his steering wheel with him. I think it was a reasonable common sense approach for us to take, not to do anything about that. A) the race had finished, and b) the car didn't need the steering wheel for the marshals to manoeuvre it. For me, under the circumstances, it was not worth reporting to the stewards."
Grosjean: "Charlie, after the chequered flag are you allowed to undo the belt?"
Romain was then reluctant leave it with Charlie’s answers. I very much enjoyed the Lewis / Seb exchange.
Yep. He's superb. The WDC with two races to go. Since the break he's been untouchable. Unless, of course, you touch his tyre with a wing endplate.
Everyone is happy about it.
He's not as exciting as he used to be though and I miss the old risk taker. He'd have had Alonso off the circuit three years ago.
One of the all time greats, and we've seen him from his first days in the McLaren. It's been a treat: more to come as well.

We’ve seen some great driving this year.
Lewis, both RB drivers, and Seb (apart from a few errors of judgment / attitude).
I think Lewis will really value this title, strong competition from Ferrari, late season performance from RedBull. A very well deserved title.
And not an annoying German in the other Mercedes Lewis, both RB drivers, and Seb (apart from a few errors of judgment / attitude).
