There are some bitter middled aged men on PH.
Crack on Lewis, successful, doesn't care about negativity and wears what he wants with his millions.
If the angry old men actually shopped elsewhere other than Next, or safer ranges of up market brands you might actually love life Abit more.
My image of the average Hamilton hater is someone who spends their life being dressed by a mother or girlfriend, has a father who displaced all their family love, and feels embarrassed when they stop at traffic lights because the car in the next lane might hear them accidentally enjoying some Radio 1 Xtra.Crack on Lewis, successful, doesn't care about negativity and wears what he wants with his millions.

Hamilton is crap, Mercedes are pissing money up the wall; and you’ve rumbled him. Shhhh! Don’t let the secret get out.
Re money, I thought these drivers did it for the sport? Throw Leclerc (difficult to do in reality)/Russell/Wehrlein in the car and save £40M...
Just from an outsiders point of view.
And I think it's important from time to time on this thread.....
For all of this 'you;re all sad men, haters gonna hate, you should love Lewis for x, y and z' and also all of this 'Lewis is a cry baby who can't drive in a straight line unaided, wannabe rapper stuff' - you do realise you are as bad as each other?
I mean there are (presumably) grown men on here arguing with real vitriol about whether some millionaire that none of you knows is cool or not..... and as much as you try and tell yourself different, that is what you are doing....

Can't argue with that however..if you follow a sport with any passion you will have a passionate opinionAnd I think it's important from time to time on this thread.....

Actually I don't think both sides are as bad as each other.
If I don't like a celeb or other personality I'll leave it there. I certainly wouldn't bother to find and contribute to a thread dedicated to denigrating their every move, week after week.
That is the stranger behaviour IMHO.

Also. I’ve never argued that Lewis is ‘cool’. It’s not a debate I’d enter into. I am aware of his successes and his career from Karting days and so, I simply talk on his driving. As well, I seem to have to ask upteen times, why are grown men discussing what another man wears... I find that genuinely bizarre. This is a motorsport forum. So I agree, the two sides are most certainly not as bad as each other. If I don't like a celeb or other personality I'll leave it there. In any case and back on topic. Next race... can’t see Hamilton winning there. Mercedes will have a frantic mid season break as they try to crack the code of the genius Ferrari energy solution. I hope that after that break; we have a Merc that is on par with the Ferrari; and a Red Bull that’s found more pace also.

But he is not just a celeb or other personality is he? He is the current best in his class and 4 times world champion of a sport we all all passionate about. I dont hate Hamilton and I do recognise what a massive talent he is but I just cant warm to him due to the number of things he does that make him come across as a bit of a penis, an odd penis at that.
When he won the race on Sunday and he's on the radio banging on about love conquering all then being interviwed afterwards saying he had a big prayer before the race then all the #blessed stuff. I just dont get it and it makes it very hard to be a fan.

Would be interesting to see what a psychologist thought of this sort of thing. Does it show he has a lack of belief in his own ability and is having to appeal to a deity for help or hinderence of other drivers. If he were still in a McLaren now would he be making child sacrifices desperately trying to put him in the gods favour. If he is winning 100% of wet races maybe he should get the team doing a rain dance every weekend

Very true but... it's fascinating stuff. They don't like the guy because they don't approve of what he does and how he lives his life outside of F1. Lewis isn't really that good, Rosberg was better, he's always has the best cars... and so on. And I think it's important from time to time on this thread.....

Going on that basis it seems to me Lewis, singlehandedly, has managed to pull off the biggest con in sport of all time. A driver who isn't that good manages to get himself signed up by McLaren whilst still a schoolboy. Beats everyone in the Karting, does it again in F3 including Vettel in a similar car.
Gets to F1 and almost wins the WDC in his first season. And now he has 4 drivers championships. All whilst being pretty average. Mercedes, Nikki Lauda and Dieter Zetsche have no idea what they are doing.
Then we have this weekend. Lewis takes a win which looked impossible before the race started. The usual crowd are there saying he was lucky, drivers got out the way. They've gotten out the way for Vettel too in similar circumstances. He looked after his tyres, what was it, 42 laps on the same rubber? Alonso managed 31. He exploited what he had under him to the max. Then Seb falls of the track, all on his own in what is considered the best car at the moment... another mistake from him. He seems to get a pass when he drops the ball. As does Max. I can imagine what would've been said if Lewis slide off the track whilst leading the race.
Me, I don't care what the drivers do away from the track and don't feel they should behave in a particular way. Why the way someone does their hair, the clothes they wear, the music they like, they people they hang out with and where they live should matter is a mystery to me. These are the things that his detractors are using to back up their reasons for not liking Lewis. Maybe it's the British thing, urgining you to get to the top of the mountain and then do their best to knock you down... Yes he's not perfect, says stupid stuff and puts his foot in it but fundamentally he's a decent guy clean living guy. Kimi stumbles about drunk in a bar, he's cool, he's funny. If Lewis did that, well he's a racing driver, he should live right. Do the right thing. Be perfect. Not liking him is fine by me, I don't come on here expecting people to like him. I just find the reasons people use to justify it, the double standards, quite interesting. intriguing.

I get the impression that he is trying a bit too hard to be Senna sometimes. I'm with you though, I rate him as a driver but find him a bit annoying as a person. I doubt he'd like me much either though When he won the race on Sunday and he's on the radio banging on about love conquering all then being interviwed afterwards saying he had a big prayer before the race then all the #blessed stuff. Agree with this 100%. He’s won at every level; when there were no advantages. He was hailed as a wonder kid in lower formulae; but the old fogey brigade on PH don’t like his hair-do. Brilliant!
