When the Lewis Hamilton Thread switches from nutters trying to deny his greatness exists to nutters trying to deny that the Moon Landings happened. laugh

The internet has proven a terrible idea.

It’s true the team radio has never been published, only recently has the onboard of Glocks last lap been released in full, the fia spent an additional two days going through the telematics and telemetry of both toyotas and found no wrong doing, although plenty of fingers were pointed at the time.
I didnt know that. What possible reason would the fia have for doing that - even if Toyota had decided to throw the championship lewis way which anyone who bothered to watch the race could see wasn't the case, whose biz is that but theirs?

Although in those times I wouldnt put it past spanky max and the fia travelling circus to have attempted to conjure up a dodgy new interpretation of a rule to swing the championship to massa post race.

Just the drama I suppose, and ensuring that right decision was made.

Anyway someone has been kind enough to put the onboard with the itv/fom coverage...

He made up some ground!

Edit!

Btw Vettel had the v10 engine!

Not sure but back then I don’t think it was in the public/fom domain.

I get that, although all the comms are cached for legal reasons. The FIA has them sitting in a bottom draw.

One might argue it's in the public interest to publish those files now in order to dispel accusations of foul play.

Interestingly F1 TV audience figures have been in continual decline since 2008

They had satisfied themselves there was no wrong doing.

Tv figures yep they are down, but sponsorships up, Number of GP’s up, investment up, racing best I known.

His five world championships were all invented by hollywood and clever CGI.

Lewis and Seb are actually actors, not racing drivers- they use professional racers during the race, wheeling the two rivals when it's podium time. Kimi and Bottas both know this, which is why Kimi doesn't talk much and is being kept on, whilst Bottas didn't know until he started and now quietly seethes.

That's not always a good sign biggrin

It's quite possible the TV audience has been declining since 2008 due to the cars and rules became more complex.

There cannot be another sport as complex to fully understand and follow.

Just the grid penalties / token sytstem is hilarious BS.

Tennis should bring in something similar for when a players racket breaks. Next match they have to play first set in bare feet.

The stewards ratified the race result, the fia endourced it end of conversation.

Tv audiences, have no idea world wide, now I pay for it I watch it, preferably live, but in all honesty sometimes recorded, sometimes on catch up.

By taking away refuelling (and adverts) you get to see more racing, personally I think the rules are a lot simpler than football offside or rugby, but if you keen on watching you’ll pick it up.

Grid penalty’s are a necessary evil at present it’s the only fair way to the field and that’s the thing you have to protect.

Tennis haha, Seem to remember a player running out of racquets a few yrs ago and getting DQ’ed. Rules are Rules..!

The offside rule is understood by the majority of Sun readership.

F1 has about 5000 different rules and the fastest driver can be penalised to start 20th due to a manufacturing fault in previous race.
Penalise the manufacturer / team with a £££ fine, not the driver.

What a racket !

Not quite the refs and assistants often make the wrong call, and it can cost victories/trophy’s.

The penalty’s in f1 have to be like this, a fine of even 1mill £ means nothing, Merc have invested several 100’s of millions in the engine alone, to put a new engine in at every race for a £ fine they would bite your hand off.

The only thing I could think off is making them pit more than once (so say minimum two pit stops for engine change, 3 for engine and gearbox) race strategy’s then get a bit mixed and you would see perhaps closer racing through the race.
