post race Hamilton was certainly talking-up the RB performance, when ofcourse he should've been talking-up the performance of Max
Rubbish; he gave Max a ton of credit and said he was loving the challenge from Max and Red Bull. And the Red Bull has come on leaps and bounds so their performance should be talked up; what's wrong with that?vdn said:

I suggest you listen to the post race press conference to see how much praise Hamilton gives max...actually more than I’d expect any driver to give his title rival.

A while back back Alonso was in the Mclaren Lewis said he hoped Mclaren would up front with Ferrari and RedBull up there too because he wanted to fight with everyone. Proper racing.
He wants Max, Leclerc, Vettel, whoever, all in top cars going for the win.
Somehow Sparta hears something else.

Is that the "tier 2 " car that won in Germany??
Yes. Red Bull, that team that won 4 constructors' championships in a row.
Red Bull, that team that employs Adrian Newey, who appears to be, if I may use the vernacular, a bit fking talented.
Red Bull, that team that can do 2 second pit stops.

It did. Max didn't win in Germany on outright pace did he? Before Merc botched Lewis's strategy he was out in front in a class of one. Red Bull, that team that won 4 constructors' championships in a row.

He got a bit lucky with his spin. Yes there was also skill involved in saving it.
He came second on Sunday nearly 18 seconds behind the winner.
So either the car is 2nd tier of its driver is?

There i was trying to suggest Hamilton is up against someone in serious machinery: lesson learned. One could argue Red Bull botched Verstappen's strategy in Hungary. He got a bit lucky with his spin. Yes there was also skill involved in saving it.

You might have missed this bit but it's a team sport and without the right car any driver is going to be left wanting, RB have done a great job as a team. It's the reason the drivers always instantly thank the team on the radio after a great performance as they know how much they need the right kit and strategy to win, regardless of how good they are as drivers.
But you probably know this but enjoy being obtuse.

You could and that's my point. German wasn't a race to judge the machine. Max and the RB are both very very good. I would argue they are both now second best.
But, the Mercedes and Lewis are still in a class of their own. In my opinion of course.

Since arriving in F1, Hamilton has said he’ll partner / battle anyone. For better and for worse.

Yes. The other Tier 2 car came second.
We were invited to Hockenheim - it was refreshing to witness some tier 2 cars getting good results.
It's great for the sport.
