I'm not ignoring anything. Of course animal agriculture currently has problems, but so does all agriculture. Pinning the blame on one or the other is disingenuous.
Yes, there are issues but why does every single major org’ focus on animal agriculture as being the prime issue. That’s the point. It’s disingenuous to suggest that the impact levels are even, across the board. They’re not.
Well that all rather hinges on whether you believe actual scientists or payroll statisticians looking for data to reinforce predetermined outcomes. One particular high-profile 'study' was roundly debunked for completely omitting crop transportation impact, if I remember correctly. The authors were like "oh yeah, our bad" but that part of the story got buried and never saw the light of day in the press. I'm sure you're aware of all this though.

This is all growing very tiresome now. I'm surprised it hasn't been moderated.
Post up a link otherwise this one study that you claim exists might not and is still set against a sea of real science putting the spotlight on animal agriculture in particular. It’s bizarre that you think that all agriculture is on a level - truly bizarre in fact. Aside from anything else - even if it were true; multiple amounts of crops are needed for the animal agri’ sector making it the most inefficient of all. That’s a simple fact that nobody disputes.

Back to Hamilton. Let’s hope his vegan diet fuels another title! It’s within reach this next race.

He’s on the heels of MS.

No thanks. I'm not about to go searching for links to score agriculture points in an F1 forum. Anything I posted would be ridiculed anyway. This debate has gone on long enough. You are free to believe as you wish, as is everyone else. In the meantime, though, anyone in the public eye who asserts that all humans must adopt a vegan lifestyle in order to save the planet can expect scrutiny.

I didn’t think you’d get the link. As for the rest; won’t disagree.

Here’s to a vegan WDC (hopefully) this weekend - but it’s a bogey track for Mercedes, so maybe not just yet.

Yeah, let’s not ‘sprout’ rubbish, just let Hamilton continue to hypocritically spout it.

If the best excuse he has is that F1 cars don’t burn as much fuel as they used to he can shove it.

The rest of them are no better, hypocrites of the first order.

Seriously? Out of 7 billion people, the whole F1 circus is such a minor consideration that if they stopped it'd make not 1 jot of difference.

Just go to: https://www.flightradar24.com/
And then: https://www.marinetraffic.com/

Then think about every car, motorbike, tuk-tuk, moped, lawnmower and anything else with an engine.

Then think about every factory, every manufacturer of any goods, every container full of stuff...

Then tell me F1 is really the problem wink

If there's someone who can influence the hoi polloi into a little less waste, and into a little bit less pollution then go for it - I really like breathing clean(ish) air!

Indeed, I am working in the marine industry and food industry at the same time. Waste and carbon footprint is scary. Does it make me an hypocrite when I tell my son not to waist food or water at home? I don't think so, I am aware of what job I do and little changes I can make to make things a bit better even if it's not great. Doesn't stop me being very eco friendly at home and make my friends around aware of waste.

hehe he did! I think that we can put that down to him having a paddy, in that moment. But there’s got to be a part of everyone that would agree with that particular rant.

Bit of an understatement that!

Higher by some magnitude!

Or another way... A few 1000 people making a massive change, or a few billion making a small change.

Which will have the greater overall impact?

I firmly believe the profound words of Ghandi, "be the change you want to see in the world"

F1 has been carbon neutral for decades. Yes people might argue that offsetting carbon output isn't the same thing as not producing it in the first place but I wouldn't be so sure that Lewis' footprint is massively higher than average affluent westerner.

and that is the unavoidable core of most of those who preach the environmentalism tenet isn't it - "the masses should go with less again while the few enjoy all the spoils"

That sounds more like a Conservative tenet than that of any Green I've ever known.

Indeed, I’d get Teddies argument if Lewis wasn’t actively trying to reduce his footprint. Thing is he practice what he preaches and has gone vegan, flies commercial, has sold multiple cars, has bought an EV and is involved in a sport which actively feeds down R&D to improve road car technology.
