Can you show your working for this one?
What working? Most power stations are oil or coal which have a best thermal efficiency of 37 percent. The most efficient ICE (Without taking any kind of hybrid energy recovery into account) exceed 50 percent. Teddy Lop said:
and that is the unavoidable core of most of those who preach the environmentalism tenet isn't it - "the masses should go with less again while the few enjoy all the spoils"
Seems an extreme response to not trying to crap all over each other... The other extreme is that everyone just does whatever they want, and don't give a s**t about it. I'm fairly certain that the truth lies somewhere between the two ;-)

I don't suppose anyone outside the team really knows.
Personally I think there is some genuine moaning but a lot of misdirection to other teams as well when it is needed.

Is Hamilton's radio moaning, "we'll never make it!", genuine?

Stirling Moss used to walk up the grid just before a wet race rubbing his hands with glee and telling anyone who cared to listen just how much he loved racing in the wet and that it really brought out the best in him. In reality, he hated it and has later admitted to be petrified when racing in the rain but the approach disarmed his opponents.

And I've only ever heard of an ICE getting 50% as a top end F1 engine under lab conditions... A diesel is 35% on a good run (and not under idle, or chugging around)... Unless you're running a low speed ship diesel engine?
I'd appreciate a link to the info showing ICE at 50% efficiency during standard usage - bearing in mind that you can run a power station at peak efficiency all the time, but you can't do that with an ICE. It's a genuine request as Wikipedia cites only 20 to 25% efficiency https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_efficiency?...

Isn't most power from nuclear (very efficient) and CCGT which is 60% and greater efficiency?

Most power worldwide is comfortably from fossil fuels. And I've only ever heard of an ICE getting 50% as a top end F1 engine under lab conditions... A diesel is 35% on a good run (and not under idle, or chugging around)... Unless you're running a low speed ship diesel engine?

So if Lewis were to secure his sixth championship this year (as does seem rather likely) could we expect him to be honoured with a Knighthood?
An award which would seem to me to be rather overdue already given the extent of his sporting achievements compared to some recently bestowed with the award.
I have read and heard speculation before that there may be a former World Champion with some friends amongst the Royal Family who isn’t terribly keen on the idea at all.
I do hope that isn’t the case and come 2020 it is Sir Lewis having a tilt at matching Michael Schumacher’s record.
Regards Mike

Personally I don't think a knighthood is particularly relevant here anyway: there are 7 motor sport knights, only two were world champions. I'd prefer awards to be about public service, rather than personal reward for achievement, if we have to have them. Particularly in motor sport, it's a team result as much as an individual one.
