Things you thought you'd never see:
'Takuma Sato out qualifies Alonso'
not the first time in the USA - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_United_States_G...'Takuma Sato out qualifies Alonso'

Good job Scott Dixon! Alonso has 1 week experience in the car, never raced an oval, and he's 5th on the grid. Incredible. But it also shows these guys are no pushovers they know what they're doing. Looking forward to the race!
Ovals are a black art. There are some real specialists over there.Would be interesting to see Alonso do an Indycar race on the streets or a conventional track.
What are the chances of Alonso enjoying this so much he turns his back on F1 for a whole season of Indy? I would guess if he can do well at Indy he could be competitive for the championship.
To take this a step further he could come back to F1 in 2019 when there is a competitive seat available.

Presumably Bordais' seat is free and his team are Honda powered...To take this a step further he could come back to F1 in 2019 when there is a competitive seat available.

Hybrid Yank/English.
Its what humans do when they move around the world, you should have heard my Mancunian/Atlanta accent after living there a while.
It only seems to affect some people. I have been travelling for 21 years and have spent most of my time stateside since 2002, but I sound EXACTLY the same as I always did. I do say 'cellphone' and 'what's up' now though! Its what humans do when they move around the world, you should have heard my Mancunian/Atlanta accent after living there a while.

Takes me about a week and I then have a mid-Atlantic accent. Apparently I switch when talking on the phone as well to US colleagues. But then in my working day I spend more time talking to Americans than Brits.WestyCarl said:

Problem is that the seats in "competitive" cars in F1 become free for the 2018 season. However he could do Indycar or WEC in 2019.
