Surely the time to pit Vettel was when Bottas hit the traffic, give him the best chance for the undercut.

Although I guess it depends where it would've brought him out, but now for definite he will have to catch on track and pass for any hope of the win.

Why put Bottas? Should he not just have reacted to Ferrari? Should have tried undercut with Hamilton.
I would assume it would be something to do with aiming for a gap in traffic.
Don't think any gaps were a problem, bottas came out in a big gap behind Hamilton.

And now pitting Hamilton just screwed him, in the middle of backmarkers.

Why didn't merc pit Hamilton for the undercut?

Surely now he's just guaranteed 4th.

It's a bit painful watching lead cars unable to close and pass lapped (about to be) cars.
They really need to back the aero regs off.

Vettel is holding the gap at 20 seconds to Bottas I guess they are hoping to pit as late as possible and catch him at the end of the race.

Ferrari are quick onto the start finish straight but it still puts a big onus on the pass being completed.

At least the undercut could have got him track position.

Yep, called it about 15 mins ago, they guaranteed his 4th, when they could have tried for 3rd.

The sky commentary team don't understand that the "total" pit time includes covering about 600 meters of race track.... they really can't work out why the gaps don't change by 30 seconds.

I'm going back to C4.
