I was expecting this thread to be buzzing, it's Monaco qualifying and it's live on Sky and C4- where is everyone?

The Mercedes 10th and 12th fastest in the speed trap- are they struggling with traction / weight or are they yet to turn up the wick? Ferrari fastest...

TBF it is an amazing day in most parts of the UK. I'm watching the quali but probably not the race.

There must be others nursing a devastating hangover in front of F1 qualifying?

Both are not good enough imo. Seats are being wasted.

Can't find it now but I'm sure I read somewhere that if Palmer doesn't get a good result this weekend (e.g. getting to P2, which he hasn't) he's out on his ear.

I really hope so, at least Stroll is a rookie and shows signs of improvement- Palmer stinks. He will vacate- in favour of a Fernando?

I can only assume that the people writing off Stroll and Palmer as useless haven't followed the racing careers of either driver.

See the 'which race series' thread for discussion on how much of a performance advantage can be bought where the competition have a budget.

It's wholly possible that both can dominate in lower formulae and then be out of their depth in F1.

I have patience for Stroll, I'd rather see Williams scoring some points with a better driver but Stroll is improving- Palmer just doesn't get any better. An F1 career of consistent underperformance. And his attitude is jank.
