In other news, is the McLaren chassiss actually okay? Seem to be better when they don't have go fast in a straight line!

I think the general feeling is that the McLaren chassis is pretty decent, however it's hugely compromised at many circuits by having to run lower downforce to compensate for the lack of power.

Given the F1 rules, he may yet have a penalty on top.

We'll have to see, but from keeping an eye on timing would suggest KMag wasn't on a hot lap, thus "blocking" rules don't apply.

No mate I think you've got it wrong. Mercedes looked good in FP1 and then went the wrong way with the setup in FP2. It's common knowledge that the Mercedes is a tough car to get 'in the window'.
Hamilton's setup was all wrong. The car was over-rotating and struggling for traction, immediately cooking the rears.

Are Merc missing Nico or is Ham ? He (Nico) mentioned that Bottas would take time to develop the car, wheras Nico had been there pretty much from the beginning.
