Seems pretty sure he doesn't want to come back to F1: http://www.racer.com/f1/item/140930-monaco-is-my-l...

Going to start from pitlane due to a setup change according to Adam Cooper.

Q1:

11 Jenson Button 1.13.723

Q2
7 Stoffel Vandoorne 1.13.249
10 Jenson Button 1.13.453

Q3
9 Jenson Button 1.13.613

So, even with Stoffel crashing, during the entire qualification session Jenson was never faster than him but you still think Vandoorne has been "outqualified"?

Strange man you are.

But don't let the facts get in the way of your opinion.
Fact: button p9. Stoff p10.

Doesn't after howfast you are in p1 and p2, you have to make it to p3 to set a time. Vandoorne failed to do that, so was outqualified.

Fact: Vandoorne grid P12, Button grid P20.

In spite of the crash, Vandoorne has been the quickest of the two in every session he's driven in, and will start the race ahead on the grid. Neither will win this race, just as nobody will 'win' this argument. It's a pointless argument anyway, started by someone with a massive chip on their shoulder.

Exactly. It you introduce loopholes then teams will game them. Make an exception for driver swaps and next thing you know some teams will be playing driver Hokey Cokey.
Just introduce WCC penalty for driver swaps, unless they're medically unfit.

Basically, I like Button and don't want to see him have to start at the back. hehe
Fairly sure teams are only allowed two driver changes in the season.

Every year Hamilton goes into Monaco and everyone expects him to smash it, and every year SOMETHING goes wrong.

I can't think of one year where he's really nailed the whole weekend at Monaco?
Indeed, it's a myth that he's good at Monaco. Like the myth that he's good at overtaking. And the one about Vettel not being good at overtaking.

(Hamilton still my favourite driver though.)

His win in 2008 came because he hit the barriers which meant he pitted at just the right time, even when he wins theres drama. I fear hes going to stuff it today...

And if there was WCC points penalties instead of grid penalties McLaren would be on -100 points by now hehe

First I've heard of it. What rule is that? Technical or sporting regulations?

Sky just confirmed McLaren have taken the only surviving new spec diffuser from Button's car and fitted it to Vandoorne's after he smashed his up.

That seems to be the real reason JB is starting from the pit lane.

I knew someone would say that! You know exactly what I meant tho =) I only joined in because of the bizarre "strange little man" banter from whoever it was I quoted.

And now Stoffel's pinched a part off JB's car because he crashed his.

Mind boggling that he doesn't want more of this. hehe

I'm astounded McLaren didn't have a spare with them. Surely a diffuser has to be one of the more easily broken parts on a street circuit?

Anyway.

With the number of barrier brushes bust suspension so far during the meeting I can confidently predict carnage on the first lap!!

What a great start to the C4 coverage with the Prince and Princess of Monaco involved - pity EJ forgot his jacket for lunch with royalty scratchchin

Fingers crossed for a cracking race and that the Ferraris don't have it all their own way & we have a great race with Jenson helping mix it up (just for fun of course!)

But then surely that means that Vandoorne's car would have been taken out of parc ferme as well and should also therefore start from the pit lane?

Im wondering if the pit lane start is an attempt to keep Jenson out of any potential first corner shunt, as he can only leave the pit lane after the last car on the grid has passed the pit lane exit. He would also have to keep to the right of the track until after The first corner.

Can see kimi having a sticky wheel nut or vettel get a problem and need an "earlier" pit stop.....

Its a new part, they only have two. Old version now fitted to Buttons car.

And?

If you're making 2, surely it's prudent to make 3 (or even 4) to ensure you have spares if things go wrong?

No, because they're replacing a broken part with one of the same spec. If they'd fitted the older design then he'd have had to start from the pit.

Rosberg just said Hamilton has a set up issue that can't be changed under parc ferme rules......but Van D can swap diffusers?
No wonder people find this sport frustrating.
