Interesting interview from Lewis, saying that his strategists were saying P10 was the best he could hope for and so he's kinda pleased with P7. As pleased as he can be under the circumstances.

Typical Monaco bore fest of a race. How long is the 'prestige' of racing there going to take presidence over actually watching some decent racing rather than cars just following each other round.

Plus it would appear the Monaco royalty and the new owners of F1 are exempt from observing a minutes silence, all of them talking through the whole thing! Yet when the National anthem starts they stand in silence, hands clasped, in respect. Perhaps it's because I live in Manchester but that propertly annoyed me! Inconsiderate tts!

Also, what was Jenson thinking!! Not a great way to finish his last race.

There's 20-something other races for racing. We just have to accept that Monaco is the way it is. I think F1 would be poorer without it, and I don't just mean financially.

A motor racing circuit - that you can't race on.

It's a bit like having a football pitch with no goal posts, or a brush with no bristles. Totally, completely and utterly pointless.
You believe that Monaco has anything to do with motor racing?

Do you think that's air you are breathing?
You got me there...

Is it just me, or is Sky's montage to "I want to break free" a bit ironic given Monaco? hehe

Is it actually possible for an interviewer not to say "talk me through it" or a driver not to say "for sure"?

Riccardo interview hilarious. Saying that he was touching cloth, and always races with old underwear at Monaco. hehe

Pretty standard fare for Monaco really.

If he didn't before, Kimi now knows where he sits at the Ferrari table. I can quite see him saying "fk this" and walking at the end of the season. Vettel for his part did nothing wrong.

Red Bull boys did well enough, Max is really developing as a driver I think - he's thinking about the race and figuring out how its all panning out. Danny Ric had a little bit of luck with escaping that dink in to the barrier.

Bottas likewise, did a decent enough job. Lewis did well but clearly doesn't have the car under him and isn't quite sure how to fix it, looked thoroughly disappointed in himself.

I don't know whats going on with Perez, but snarky radio messages from the off seem to indicate tensions. As Brundle says its never good to be driving angry and he paid the price. Needs to go away and have a quiet word with himself, especially with a potential Ferrari seat opening up. Ocon was screwed by his extra stop.

Sainz gets a thumbs up, decent drive. Good points for Haas too.

Button's move was optimistic at best, lets hope Pascal doesn't have further medical issues.

Palmer did nothing to change anyones opinion of him, talk of him being replaced mid season.. we'll see on that.

Ericsson just plain embarrassing, Vandoorne not much better in all honesty.

Hopefully Canada will be a bit more exciting

It was a great job by Vettel obviously but never never should have had the chance to use that strategy. Mercedes managed to allow Rosberg & Hamilton to race for three years so it is kind of disappointing that Ferrari are issuing team orders barley a third of the way into the championship, although I guess Ferrari do not have as big an advantage as Mercedes did.

Either way I do wonder why a driver with Raikkonen's achievements would want to stick around now it is beyond any doubt he will not be given a fair crack at it. Also makes it interesting as to who Ferrari will sign next... I can't see the talented youngsters like Sainz or Ocon wanting to sign up to be a number 2.

Maybe next year we could have 1 lap of racing and 68 pit stops?

Kimi just about admitted that he's #2 when interviewed by Pinky on Sky just now.

Wow, just seen Kimi's intereview where he just admitted they have 'certain roles' within the team and yes he was just coasting after the pit stops because he had 'nothing to gain'. frown

Ted on his notebook saying everything was a shambles and poorly organised, and nobody knew when the 1 min silence was to start or to end, and that's why some people were talking. Likewise the podium interviews.

Indeed. That's what I was referring to. yes

Quite an admission.

Edit: Having said that, I still say that Vettel earned it. He hung back, conserved his tyres, and put in some devastatingly quick laps when it counted in order to get the overcut.

Edit2: Pat Symonds saying much the same - only he says that Kimi had the opportunity of clean air and didn't take it.

Maybe so, but if in doubt don't talk, laugh and joke. Just stay still and quiet FFS.

It's solemn moment for people have lost their lives.
