Never been to Spa before. Was considering going over for this year.
What are the logistics like in terms of parking, traffic jams, getting in and out, hotels etc.
I would be looking for sercureish car parking and reasonable hotel.

I was thinking of going from Hull.

If you want to be anywhere near the track, you'll need to camp. I stayed in Verviers one year, but wouldn't recommend it - the traffic in and out was a nightmare. Camping was much easier logistically, although obviously not as "nice" as staying in a hotel.

As someone who has done just about every circuit on the calendar I would say this. If you like camping and roughing it and want to soak up the atmosphere then Spa is a good race to go to, but the facilities are woeful, the view isn't that great and there is not much to do other than watch the racing so if you like things a bit more varied and civilised with creature comforts then it's not the greatest race to go to. Getting to and from it is also a bit of a nightmare.

It's a shame as it's my favourite circuit but sadly I actually think it's better watched on TV much like Monaco.

The race that surprised me is Austria, it's a beautiful location, the facilities set up make the place a lot more civilised, general admission on the straight between Remus and Schlossgold affords you a great view of at least half of the track and if the sun is out it's a wonderful place to just sit and take in F1 amongst the scenery. It's also not ludicrously expensive.

OK bin that idea then, I was a fan of camping and generally getting muddy in a field 20 years ago but not these days! Thanks for the advice.

Would agree with the first parts about roughing it, with a fantastic atmosphere.

Would disagree on the view - GA gives pretty good views from most of the circuit and you can walk right round. Many times better I think than Silverstone & even Monza.

Good to hear about Austria - it's next on my hit list.
