I was taking about Constanduros, not Verstappen, although I think many drivers would have gotten where he was with the amount of pushing and investment Jos put into his son quite honestly. But that was not my ooint in this conversation.

MV was playing a video game. It broke. He was said he was annoyed. Someone blew it out of all proportion and said he was having a meltdown. Lots of techy stuff about why it broke followed.

It is harsh because it implies that he has got to where he is in spite of his level of skill rather than because of it. Max's driving is consistently sublime.

To me he is a motorsport test-tube baby, grown in a laboratory with the sole purpose of being the best racing driver. As a result he is now probably the best racing driver, but he is also completely uncultured. They forgot to socialise him.
I think they also need to teach him on-track manners as well. Too much 'move over or crash' still there, especially when Max and Lewis are in close vicinity.

Unfortunately it has been shown to be a good way to win, see also Hamilton vs Rosberg etc.

So I expect will stay around until it gets properly punished.

What do you mean Hamilton vs Rosberg? Rosberg was only a bit 'unmannerly' on very rare occasions, Hamilton not at all. He would push the rules to the max, but always stayed inside them, which is the major difference between Hamilton and Verstappen.

Yep, there were occasions when both Lewis and Nico went right to the limit, but I don't think either was remotely in the Verstappen league for dodgy tactics.

What's your thoughts on the, Hamilton hits 10 cars in 2022, to Verstappens just 1 car .... which was Hamilton?

If we conceded that Verstappen loves a good block-pass type approach, would we also agree that Hamilton's spatial awareness is pretty appalling, and his "he turned in on me" reflex response across the years, has become a little worn out?

Let's start with Max. Most of the time he was nowhere near anybody else.

What 10 cars did Lewis hit? I personally think his spatial awareness is well up there, certainly compared with some of the other drivers.

And he did have a meltdown, threw his toys out the pram and refused to carry on because in his words
It's a joke, a clown show, i'm not driving round in 15th for 6 hours
And promptly stopped, then insisted he was uninstalling the game and everyone else should do too.
Granted there was a technical hiccup but his rant about how this is the third time it's happened to him and he hasn't won blah blah...sleep yes it is frustrating but by refusing to drive, he could have cost Redline the championship. If he had carried on and moved them further up the field by being a superior driver, they could have got close enough to win but i guess we'll never know

Surely it was more like 10cars hit the 2022 Merc because it was a chicane and ppl kept underestimating how slow it was? smile

I'll have to take your word that this is the case. If so, the immediate explanation would presumably be that Hamilton spent the season in the midfield, surrounded by other cars, whilst Verstappen (certainly after the first few races), spent most of his season miles ahead of the other cars.

Hamilton is one of the greatest wheel-to-wheel racers in motorsport history. Calling his special awareness 'pretty appalling' is ludicrous and rather diminishes your credibility.

It's always easy to spot the people who parrot statistics from Twitter without a moments' critical thought.

Don’t like MV at all, I think he is one of the most dangerous drivers in the history of the sport because his way of winning is seen by newcomers as the way to do it. I think he’s often a petulant child and he comes across as being violent when he losses his temper. But in this instance I wouldn’t describe it as a meltdown. I’ve seen bigger meltdowns when someone has knocked over a Monoploly board.

We'll have to agree to disagree then, for me refusing to play because of a technical glitch is the actions of a child and is essentially throwing your toys out.
However, you have your opinion smile

I'm with you though, i don't like him either but mainly because i think he's an arrogant prick and has become even more so since winning his first F1 title.
