His wife beater dad won't like that outfit one bit. Not very becoming for a tough Verstappen.

I can understand why Max is choosing to do this and don't have any issue with it really.

One thing I think it is fair to point out is that if this had been Hamilton there would have been a meltdown of biblical proportions, and some Pistonheaders would have been upset to the point of requiring medical attention.

So true. NURSE!!!

It's Rain Dear

Max is no Alan Jones but the self-deprecating humour from him and Norris is most welcome

Despite what you think of his personality, his driving has been absolutely superb so far, well apart from Monza.

Lando has been amazing too, I have rated them both at 9.5 out of 10, and Charles is a close 9.0 in 3rd for me.

I don't like his attitude but damn I can't say he can't drive, he is soaking up the pressure (in the main) and still performing well enough to take Pole yesterday. It is impressive.

Completely agree with this. His attitude is not improving but his driving is.

He is, but over a full race distance he is still a bit patchy...my opinion of course.

I love his attitude. Well I love to enjoy his faux coolness, his erratic moves, his arrogance etc. He’s a bit of a pleb but he seems to be the most talented driver on many measures.

I genuinely don't get all the hubbub around max. We complain on how sports stars are so sterile these days with all the media training etc. We now look back with such fondness and admiration of some of the drivers of the past, even the god like senna pulled off some horrific stunts at a time in the sport where people were dying fairly regularly. And yet we berate max or even Lewis for being a bit different? I don't get it.

I can't think of anything worse at work having a camera crew shoved in my face at regular intervals. I'd be telling them to fk right off aswell.

Actually it was 12 years between the last F1 weekend fatality and Imola 1994.

I just can’t stand the whole red bull team and the attitude of any of them really. I should like the team but I just can’t. The same with max I should like him but I can’t. They do all the right things but the figure heads they have just ruin it.

It’s the self entitled, smug, and arrogance of them all. Marko, Horner and max. The way they handled themselves earlier in the year showed the true colours.

When those types people succeed it just makes me unhappy. Way of the world I guess.

I can see where you're coming from and have no love for RB for the same reasons. Max's talent is undeniable, but there have been too many incidents that left a sour taste in the mouth for my liking. Vs Ocon in Brazil is a good example.

Indeed. No patchiness today. A very solid drive.

Ocon in Brazil was probably my favourite “Max Moment”. What must have been the look on Lewis’s face, as he sailed past the spinning car and into the lead? Champ’s comments in the green room after that race summed it up well, to paraphrase, he wasn’t racing with you, why did you get involved with him?

Perhaps the turning point was Silverstone this year, where he suffered hard from what was a minor contract, led to a change of attitude behind the scenes despite the public bluster.

Great drive today though, didn’t put a foot wrong all day and saved his tyres for the fight at the end. Advantage Max in the championship, going to be a great last five races.

Monza more likely as Horner wasn't exactly making an effort to defend Max that time around. Certainly Silverstone was a wake up call that you can't risk having incidents that could cause DNFs.

Lewis knew what he was doing and the likely outcome.
Penalty applied was light touch.

Solid drive on old tyres yesterday from Max.

I'd be smug too if I was leading a F1 world championship and had a penthouse in Monaco. Try not to let it get you down.
