With a bit of luck the chairs will be on wheels and they can re-enact the hospital scene from Days of Thunder.

tried to watch the practice, and the Merc looked FAST, but just couldn't tolerate the moronic banter between Ant & Croftie.

Williams not looking very strong - it's suited their car the last few years.

They have a big upgrade package this weekend, I'm wondering if they're struggling to get the setup right for it. Or worst case the wind tunnel and actual use numbers don't match.

It all gets a bit tiresome - these grid penalties.

Makes vettels punishment seem even more unfair, so he damaged his nose but got it changed, finished in front of lewis and even pulled another 2 points on him, ruins Lewis's race and now gets him a five place grid penalty, guess vettels somewhere in the back if the Ferrari garage with a smug grin to go with his fake apology

I missed the session. Is there some reason for McLaren's high placing? Is it squidgy soft tyres or perhaps (whisper it) the new engine upgrade works?
Engine upgrade and ultra softs.

Vettel win if Lewis has a penalty then. Easy weekend for the red car.

I seem to be in the minority who didn't enjoy Baku and now to hear Hamilton had to change his gearbox has rubbed salt into the wound. Still, it is what it is.

I may skip this weekend as I'm on holiday and I have stuff to do. Maybe I'll try highlights.

I think Merc have said that the damage wasn't caused by the accident.

And i wonder if it was the tap from behind that damaged the box as well..........

At this rate of misfortune for hamilton, it could be worth a punt of a few quid on Bottas wining the WDC..

......The FIA also revealed that the team has known about the issue since Tuesday morning.

The team found the gearbox had been damaged after Baku and it has decided to replace it as a precaution........

surely the cars are subject to greater forces going through the chassis during a normal race weekend than the probability of a gentle tap from another car causing damage to the mercs box???

if the shunt does turn out to be a contributing factor then its hardly the pinnacle of design and construction that the box failed from a nudge!

Seen numerous times in other formula where a whack from behind has caused gearbox issues.

They're not designed to have an impact like that.....it's a bit like a rear wing on a formula car...can bend it or detach it as a marshal if you pull back on It while removing the car to safety....just not designed for those type of loadings

Trying to watch the Sky coverage of today's action but am on the verge of turning off as I am thoroughly sick of hearing about Bakugate.

I wouldn't mind if there was any further insight or analysis to add, but there isn't.
