Palmer went wide and over big kerbs, smashed the front wing and may have damaged the shiny new faster floor he didn't have last time. Oh dear.
Footage of Charlie Whiting and FIA team looking at it those kerbs which are new for this year. Sounds like they might be too high, or the drop off the edge is too severe. He won't be the last if they don't fix it.FourWheelDrift said:

This is one of the most boring races on the calendar.
Hopefully it rains but that is looking very doubtful
I hope it is and Lewis goes roaring off unchallenged.Hopefully it rains but that is looking very doubtful
Daughter would prefer a battle between her man Seb and Lewis. She is there with her 8 year old, each cheering for their fav's. She's for SV - he's for LH

FP2:
Track didn't really evolve much from FP1. I'm going to stick to a low 17 for pole.
The constant interruptions make it tricky to read the long runs. I had a look but it's not worth posting.
The Red Bull looks like a genuine contender for the race on the Super Soft tyre run, as the track conditions should be similar for qualifying and race. Both RB drivers put in very close runs on the super soft.
Don't think Ferrari got a good long run completed on the super soft on either car. Kimi's run didn't look particularly competitive.
Merc and Ferrari look close on the Soft tyre runs, but I think they're still chasing a good balance/setup on the Super Soft tyre. No idea on the Soft tyre pace of the RB cars.
I think the next practice session with clean runs from cars should give an idea of the Ferrari/Merc competitiveness.
1-stop looks likely, but the top three teams look so far ahead of the rest that traffic shouldn't be a big issue, undercut will come into play...Hoping the top three teams will bait each other into a 2-stop and have some fun.
I suspect the RB cars will have a very big role to play in the WDC chances of the Merc/Ferrari drivers going forward, even till now the RB drivers have negatively impacted on a few races of Hamilton and Vettel.
Let's see what happens when they all turn it up for qualifying. I'm going to stick to the Merc on pole prediction.

He owes the team a "No, sorry guys" atleast imo.
Sadly I doubt he had the luxury of your comfortable armchair to formulate the most correct and diplomatic response. Seriously though, I doubt that shunt is going to increase is already very low stock. I'd be surprised if he's back next year and suspect he will spend the rest of his career as "ex F1 driver..." just like his dad.

So looks like Paul DiResta in for an ill Massa for qualifying and race, deep end in very heavy shoes.
Massive, straight into quali.Obviously don't know the full story but can't help but feel some strong management would've pulled massa before FP3 and given Paul half a chance to get the car/himself set up.
