Mine has to be the year when they all crashed on the 1st corner at spa Damon Hill in the Jordan went on to win. Also I think seb this year will be hard to forget playing bumper cars. Also the cash with Ayrton senna I'll never forget watching that on the TV waiting for him to get out.

1996 British GP, the first and only GP that I've been too, that noise when the cars are revving just before the lights go out.

How could I forget and this trumps my British GP in 96; Mika Hakkinen driving through Woking in his F1 championship winning McLaren.

I can't remember if it was late 98 or early 99 when he drove through Woking, however it was a celebration of his 98 championship.

Both myself and the wife (who was heavily pregnant with my youngest) got to Woking later than we wanted, we dumped the car at a church and managed to secure a spot by a set of traffic lights on an island on the main road past the Peacock shopping centre.

The amazing thing though is, when Hakkinen did his drive through Woking, he stopped at the very lights that we were stood at, revved the fk out of the engine and booted it, it was awsome and my unborn daughter jumped.

Seeing Damon Hill almost win in that gorgeous looking, all black Arrows. Genuinely moved me to tears, as had his taking the world championship.

You don't normally get excited over a 5th place but Mark Webber on debut in the Minardi is still one of my favourite sporting moments.

Some good ones here so far.yes

My first live F1 race was Silverstone 1987, I remember the crowd's roar when Mansell took the lead as if it was yesterday. I was there in 1988 too, and my most vivd memory is seeing the cars from the helicopter as we were flying in during the ‘morning warm-up’. It was really an eye-opener to see the rooster tails of spray at 200MPH down to Stowe. Mansell was awesome in the race that afternoon with a car that had been totally uncompetitive in the dry.

2001, sitting on the exit of Blanchimont on an earth bank, the V10's going under our feet at 200MPH, and then the sound like WARFARE as they went down the 'box into the Bus Stop. F1 has not been even remotely the same since the noise was removed. grumpy

Since then, I absolutely loved Lewis and Kimi fighting for the lead at Spa in 2008, until the FIA unaccountably stepped in that evening and took Lewis’s win away. Still the worst thing (accidents aside) that I have seen in F1.redcard
