The last Singapore GP?
I hope to. Street circuits are st. Only really a spectacle for people living there, and people going to watch the race. If all you've got is to watch qualifiers/race... It's st.

I hope to God they don't don't decide to move it to a hell hole, like London.

I'm still amazed in 8 years we've not had a wet race in Singapore given the local climate.

One of the coolest teams on the grid. Look at what they brought to this race:

Two different FWs:

FW detai (not FI)l:

The TRs went well around here last year...

McL floor:

McL sidepod detail;

McL floor near rear tyre; gotten a lot more complex from earlier this year.

Ooh wink

Fabulous pictures, exceptional detail.

It disappoints me that someone like SKY F1, do not devote a program to this sort of stuff every so often. Dr Z is obviously aware of how things have developed over the season, most of us are left in the dark.

Yep.... what's the point in having a channel dedicated to the sport if you don't run programming for those with a depth of knowledge as well as those aimed at newcomers.
Get Pat Symonds and Garry Anderson to present it, I'd watch!

As an idle muse, I wonder if the teams would actually want to be involved in something like that - get too in depth and you might give something away to a rival team.

Looks like Hamilton might end up counting on Red Bull for damage limitation.

It's only been FP1...

Although his tyre allocation choice looks a little odd to me... (but what do I know!?!!)

Ferrari are looking rather scruffy in practice 2 here. Well off the pace, especially Raikkonen, and now Vettel has chucked it in the wall on his second push lap (first one was pretty uncompetitive).

Think Vettel would have set a faster lap than the Mercs had he not binned it.

RB and especially Ricciardo looking very fast.

The 'bulls looking quick. On today's form nobody is touching them this weekend. Thankfully there's another practice session to change and refine setups. I think Ferrari would be up there, the raw pace is there in the long runs. If I'm not mistaken, it took a few laps for the Soft to come up to temp on the Ferrari.

The true form should be revealed tomorrow. But Danny RIC is on it in the long runs too. Interesting race in terms of the title fight.

I'm not a sky subscriber and tend to watch on NowTV when it's not live on C4...seem to remember Ted doing special segments to highlight these things in preseason? Development corner or something? smile

Don't worry the Mercs will be fine in Q2 and Q3 when they turn the turn the engine up to 11.

If Lewis, Vettel and Riciardo all improve their P1 times by the same percentage they did in Spa then the top 3 in Q3 will be-

1 VET
2 HAM
3 RIC

Ah, yes. Who can forget Ted trying to explain the new turbo engine architecture with the aid of a few items from the stationary cupboard. Or asking Pat Symonds (then still at Williams) to explain front wing aerodynamics with the help of a few jelly babies.

And still, the broadcasting awards overlook him.

I can't fathom Vet's tactics with the softs. First f all I thought it was sandbagging, but not for a whole session.

I'm confused.

Should be an interesting qually. The assumption is probably that the Mercs will improve, the Ferraris will challenge the Mercs and the RBs will be a tenth or two in front. But what does someone confused by tyres know.

I'm not sure if this is what you were asking but anywho- I was listening to BBC F1 live audio coverage during FP2 and it was suggested on there that some teams were assessing the soft tyre to cover the potential early safety car scenario. If there's a safety car in the early laps of the driver has to stop early for a puncture etc it is probable that he could pretty much cover the whole race distance on the softs.
