Can I just say I'm very grateful to all who have started these threads through the year, particularly so for the tv timings.

This has been my come-to place for the tv timings, it is massively easier to find those here than any of the tv channel websites, which says a lot about people who design and operate those for a living.

It's also great for all the other info, championships positions, tyres etc.

So, irrespective of who does it first, I'm very appreciative and grateful. biggrinthumbup

No idea what thanksgiving is though. smile
Seconded.

Many thanks to those who gave their time to do this - it is appreciated here too. clap
+1

Enjoy it , Abu Dhabi, enjoy Abu Dhabi.
For fan mass enjoyment, silverstone wins hands down. Especially if a British driver is winning it.
Last year at Abu Dhabi I was almost looked at with scorn for getting out of my seat and cheering on LH.
Pretty much the whole stand was glamorous women in nice dresses taking selfies with their pretty boyfriends/wife’s.
God forbid actually cheering it on lol, fk em.
Nice place, full of plastic wkers.
I was in the South Grandstand last year. I remember towards the end when it was getting awfully exciting, with Lewis backing Nico up, final few laps of an epic championship going down to the wire. The tension was unbearable. 2 laps to go. Seb and Max all over Nico.
Meanwhile, I managed to get a picture which captures what it’s like to watch a race at Abu Dhabi. Lady on the left taking selfies, lady on the right applying make up.

Good to see Bottas pulling it out of the bag, I feel like he needed that.

I'd love to see Max's birth certificate he speaks as if he has been in F1 for a decade . If he gets good car next season could go any of three or even 4 drivers

Didn't manage to get any phone numbers I suppose.

Seb wasn't all over the back of Nico. He had ample opportunity to overtake but didn't bother.

Can't help but feel that Croft needs to get off his arse and do some exercise.

His gut is obstructing the view of the sky pad screen just now.
He could try walking up and down the pit lane and asking a few questions. As it is, he blathers on and on, in an excited manner, about not very much.

Clearly KC on C4, puts in a lot of effort to provide genuine insight to the commentary in his FP slots with Ben Edwards and is also pretty handy in the pit lane at other times.

laugh that’s what it was like in marina grandstand. On race day the ladies who were wearing shorts and F1 tops in the afternoon disappeared and returned for the race all glammed up like it was an evening social event.

I was probably a bit harsh to be fair. I got very drunk last night and with a 20 yr relationship about to be flushed down the toilet. I was both drunk and bitter. Not my normal posting style.
But there you go, st does indeed happen.
I’ll keep it off what are normally quite funny threads to read.

No harm in that, surely? It's always nice to have an excuse to dress up.

No idea where they were heading to after. Whilst well organised, well I say well organised getting you in is strict. No smoking or alcohol in the stands. You go through a metal detector and have your bag x rayed. Not a problem. Then getting to the stand you get stopped again. Now this time I did get pissed off. Bear in mind I’d just been searched etc. The guy looks in my bag and says you can’t go through sir you have alcohol in your bag ! Wtaf. I explained to him I’d just been searched and cleared, he’s not having it. I tipped the contents of my bag on the floor and invited him to spot the non existent alcohol.
He did apologise a lot.

Anyway, after the race it’s rammed outside the circuit. The buses are packed, the Taxi ques are rammed. So I decide to nip through Ferrari world into yas mall get a meal in restaurant and then get a taxi.
Wow even 2 hrs after the race yas island is rammed. Still couldn’t hop into a Taxi and get back to my hotel (eithad towers)
Crazy busy.

I was in Bow Street nick canteen one evening when a PC came in moaning that there was a woman in the queue at the Royal Opera House for the evening performance wearing curlers. He asked us; 'Is she going somewhere nice afterwards?'

I get it, but getting somewhere nice after the GP is an absolute nightmare.
Heading in at lunchtime, lots of nice super cars rolling up to park up.
Afterwards .. wow, crazy busy. Jammed up like London an a good day.
Anyway I managed to get back to my hotel for about 11pm and got a few nice drinks in at the beach bar.
The other F1 fans that were staying via Thomas cook sports. Well their coaches managed to get back about 1am all looking tired and a bit pissed off.
My Taxi literally gave me an Abu Dhabi tour at night dodging the main stream traffic. He told me, this will cost a bit more sir. Me : not bothered, do what you’ve got do to get me off yas island laugh

Seconded, I find it by far the quickest place to get the TV schedule with actual session start times and it’s always my go-to for that.
