That halo thing is an abomination, what were they thinking? I've never really minded the cars getting longer/thinner/silly wings/etc but that just offends me.

They are a bit of an oddity aren't they.

From some angles and up close they look stunning and from others, they look like kit cars made from bath tubs.
Exactly this. When the new LMP1 rules came in the Toyota especially looked pretty damn good, as time has gone on they’ve followed the Audi route more and that’s not a nice shape. There is some amazing details on them though.

What the "lightened up" photos of the front of the Haas and the overhead of the Williams have brought home to me is how ridiculous the aerodynamics are getting now. It's a real conundrum: Formula 1 is "the pinnacle of motorsport" and the cars are amazing pieces of engineering and technology, but (from my armchair enthusiast's) understanding, it's no wonder the cars can't follow each other/overtake (in most cases) without DRS - the aerodynamics look so intricate that any disturbance to the airflow hitting them must cause major upset to the effectiveness.

That Williams looks horrible, lets hope it goes better than it looks!
Latest nonsensical quote from Williams is don't call the drivers pay drivers, it's hard to think of any other reason they are driving a Williams in 2018 other than they are paying for the pleasure.

I'm really glad shark fins have been cut right down and prominent T-wings eliminated.
They haven't been cut right down though.

The front wing is a complete joke!
What should it be like?
Call me old fashioned ('cos I am) but the front wings should have only 2 elements allowed, (and bring back skirts) instead of the ridiculous number being developed now. They remind me of the Mach Turbo whatever razors, where each year Gillette or whoever would add yet another blade (for an even closer shave on top of what you already had last bloody year. how close do you need it when all it does is grow back).
Anyway my point is they look a bit daft.
If I compare the looks of this FW41 to an FW07 from 1980 I think i know what looks right.(it isn't the 41).
Still a Williams fan though!

For ‘lost’ read ‘reached the end of their term’ I’m surprised about Castrol though. They swapped them for Esso with RBR, right? Are they forced to take a French lubricant supplier now?

There may announce Petrobas as a sponsor, but that company has issues so it’s not certain

Sorry folks - these cars are abominations. They look like they have been designed piecemeal by different groups (which is probably EXACTLY) how they have been designed.

These bits of dazzle camouflage are pretty effective at obscuring detail. Would be nice if that was the livery. Snowball's chance though.

Putting the second word in caps for no reason doesn't make that combination any less of an oxymoron.

Once you've told us all how crap F1 is nowadays and how much better it was in your day can you please leave the rest of us alone to enjoy the season as you did (eventually) in 2017?

I think the Red Bull looks smashing, shame they always revert to the usual purpley blue with yellow nose having come up with such cool testing liveries over the years.

You think the RB14, headed up by Newey's famous design skills, has been designed piecemeal? Seriously?

You know, the designer who starts with pen and paper and focuses on the whole car package?

For goodness sake. This is supposed to be a discussion forum. Are you the type of "thought tight" person who only wants to hear views that are in accordance with your own.

The great thing about the internet is that it allows open debate.

The really bad thing about the internet is that it also allows some people to think that views that are only in accordance with their own should be aired. I will continue to post what I think and how I feel about modern F1 even if it annoys you and I most definitely won't be going away.

Sorry if that'[s not what you want to hear but, tough.
