Lets hope for a wet quali to mix things up a bit. If Verstappen gets pole it is going to be a cracker of a race.

Great post Dr Z, thanks.

Really looking forward to the race and the action this season. Don't think I'll ever get used to or agree with the Halo but I just hope there's plenty of excitement on track.

I do hope that McLaren have a better season and don't regret moving to Renault. It's got to be better than the Honda lump, surely?

Because he broke the rule, even accidentally, which they took into account.

Like no overtaking under a yellow flag, it's a rule as it can have really bad consequences.

I suppose its too early in the season for an engine change LOL.

Home GP and make a basic error like this, I like Riccardo, not doing the basics here is silly.

Yes, it would be absolute carnage if everyone slowed significantly, created no danger and proceeded with due care rolleyes

Use some common sense FIA.
They did use common sense!!

Given the halo is all due to not sufficiently slowing under flagged conditions, I am surprised they didn’t look to make an example of him.

They accepted the mitigating circumstances of faulty data on his dash?

Agree with a few posters here, the sandbags were firmly on for 1-lap pace today. However, I'm liking what I'm seeing in the long runs. Not much seperating the top 3.

McLaren appear to be right at the head of the pack behind the top 3. biggrin

This could be good.

Also agree, the halo has made a mess of the onboard views. Suspect this will be adjusted quite quickly.

Sounds like it cant be changed - regs state that any changes to camera or transponder location must be notified to the teams by 30 june of the previous season

I guess if they got all teams to agree maybe they could change that reg mid season?

That's not what I read in the article confused

Article on F1 Site said:
an error in reading his dash meant he still completed the lap too quickly.
I suppose you could have additional or inside info here that I haven't seen, however faulty data is not what I took away from the article.

Bit of an oversight, keeping the old camera position and sticking a whacking great bar right in front. It's almost as if F1 is being run by a bunch of incompetent idiots - Do they not realise TV coverage is quite important?
