These are all very good. Most of the events that come to mind have already been mentioned.

I would also add Adelaide ’86. Before the season started I was convinced Mansell would be the champion. I remember Rosberg’s puncture, and hoping Mansell would not suffer the same fate. And then the high speed tyre explosion that we’ve all seen a million times since.

I also remember Schumacher dragging the car onto the Spanish podium in 1994. With the car stuck in 5th gear!!! The TV audio suggested he was stuck in gear, but I remember Murray saying that can’t be because it would not be possible to do those lap times if it wasn’t able to change gear.

But unfortunately what I mostly remember of Schumacher is end of season collisions with Hill and Villeneuve, and his attempt to disguise them as ‘accidents’.
To be fair to Schumacher "apart from the Villeneuve attempted take out" Hill wasn't exactly very good at judging a pass.

I still think Hill's attempt at the end of 1994 was a poor judgement.

Another one.

Talking about Hill, this is Graham Hill taking us on a Lap on Monaco.

Obviously not race speed but it gives us a good idea of how the track once was.

Loved his dummy on Vettel at Monza.

And his pass of Bottas at Monza, even though you know it happened, you still can't believe it's going to happen watching the replay.

Seem to remember him pulling a great move on Alonso at Spa in his first year in the RB as well but can;t find footage.
Love to see the Red Bull close to both the Ferrari and Mercedes this year.

Max gets a lot of hype "which is deserved" but Ricciardo is some racer.

He showed Vettel that when they were teammates.

Not quite years - the following year (1983) This book came out that year and I had to buy it. I still have it. The incident and related painting was chosen as the picture for the dust cover.

The facts didn't come out straight away - and Villeneuve only had a couple of weeks to live. It was really through reading articles by Nigel Roebuck (who was quite close to Gilles) that I found out what had really happened that day at Imola.
I think people forget getting information back then "without the internet or F1 Channels" was extremely hard. Unless it was mentioned in a magazine "normally at least a week later" or by the F1 commentator at the next race you would not hear anything about what was going on.

What did give it away was the faces of the drivers on the podium but again this was not always shown.

So I totally understand why it would take some time to find out about the huge argument between the two Ferrari drivers.

What I miss in many of those clips is Murray Walkers commentary . Yes we do look back on some of his bloopers, but by some margin, it is light years ahead of today’s boys. You could have listened to it on the radio, and know exactly what was going on!
Best ever IMO.

Yes he made some huge mistakes but this is what made Murray.

Just been playing forza on the Xbox work my lad, race at hockenheim, the noddy short one. I do miss watching them head off into the forest, proper scary racing when it rained.

I miss the real imola too, ballsy circuit
You can understand why F1 took drastic action after Imola 94 but it went too far.

Cars can never be safe enough "apart from fitting the halo" but the circuits have been ruined.

Imola circuit was basically the Tamburello curve and when that changed it ruined the track.

Surely even a tyre wall could have prevented the track being ruined.

As you have stated Hockenheim too was another lost.

Sad when you see shots of it in 2014

Murray walker made mistakes but it was often due to him being excited. He was passionate and genuine and a immensely likeable guy because of that.

I’d far rather put up with a few mistakes and listen to a genuine enthusiast than have somebody who never makes a mistake but sounds like he’s reading the shipping forecast, or worse still, someone who tries to inject false excitement into their commentary. Something that a lot of current commentators are guilty of.

Turkey GP 2010

Vettel vs Webber crash.

After watching this again I can't believe how obvious it was that Vettel was at fault yet Horner says it's a racing incident.

Vettel then states he was the leader.

Unbelievable but good to see again.

Takuma Sato on a charge in a Super Aguri overtaking Ralf Schumacher in a Williams and Alonso in a Mclaren, Canada 2007.

Tyres aside Sato could be rapid on a good day, just mistake prone sadly.
Underrated driver IMO.

Nice driving.

The guy has no fear when it comes to Indy racing as well.

Now this is one where I blamed Schumacher for trying a dirty more. He was thrown out but after seeing it again I am not 100% sure if he was as bad as I remembered.

Here is the footage with Villeneuve's thoughts.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt-3KT6ktHU

Yes Schumacher turned into him but it was a huge dive by Villeneuve.

Had Schumacher just braked hard I think Villeneuve would have gone straight on into the gravel.

Thoughts??

Great to see Liberty allowing these clips to be shown on the F1 Channel biggrin
