Um, did no-one test this before the season started? Can't see diddly apart from the Halo.................

Hope they fix that soon.

Exactly that. And the Lewis footage is also similar. Looked like Hulk's footage was not so bad but still..... They seriously need to fix this.

All the money that has been spunked on this, and yet it appears noone considered the TV viewer, which ultimately is the key income source for the sport.

I agree, think they have missed a trick here.
Two or more cameras intergrated in the halo could give some great views, 180 degrees or more.

It would be cool to get "360 degree" view from the halo - including back at the driver. Could give some viewer input on the new F1 TV platform for fans.

Having said that, I think the apparent rush to have the halo approved means these ideas probably have fallen by the wayside!

Then you would have no visibility on what is going on inside the cockpit, which I think adds a lot. Go back to a camera in the T-bar on top of the airbox?

Poor? That's bloody horrendous! People who used to sit behind the pillar's at Aston Villa had a better view of the game than the viewers of that camera angle.

As it's meant to be all about 'the show' and the fact these cameras aren't exactly expensive or heavy why didn't they mandate:
- 1 camera integrated in to the front of the halo, giving you an almost drivers eye view ahead.
- 1 camera integrated in to the back of the halo, giving you a view of the driver's helmet (stop tittering at the back).
- 1 camera on the airbox looking down, gaving the hands-and-wheel view.

What happened with the helmet cam and the 360 cam? They seemed like good options. or were those just for filming days?

It amazes me that this wasn't thought about and fixed before the season started. Surely it's not that difficult to actually integrate a camera into the actual Halo?

P.S. The Halo is wk.

Exactly. I can't quite believe just how useless the picture is and how the hell this got approved. I mean, the in car footage makes a massive difference to the TV viewer.

Camera in the Halo would be a bit one dimensional, ie circuit only. They like the camera to show the driver moving around, and a good view of the circuit. Obviously it needs to be move, but that's not the answer.
