Sorry to see that about Brendon, he made Gasly look ordinay in the last half of the year and Gasly showed he is a whiney git to boot, who couldn't give credit when it was due.
Red Bull's throw them away mantra strikes again.
Brendon will get a decent drive elsewhere, most likely somewhere he will be appreciated.
Gasly seemed to switch off as soon as the Red Bull deal was done.Red Bull's throw them away mantra strikes again.

On the other hand, Brendon had to still prove himself to the team.
Unfortunately, I don't personally feel Brendon did enough to stay at Toro Rosso.

Maybe it's just so obvious that they don't feel the need to make an official announcement.

I suppose Ocon/Stroll similar size for a spare set of overalls.
Edit, Although, the RP offer was to 'rescue' the team rather than simply buy the assets (which actually did not happen they bought the assets anyway), and there were higher bids to simply buy the assets, so there could be further legal action for FI/RP. Which could be the reason why there has not been a formal unveiling yet.

There's a much much easier way of doing this and it goes something like...
You MUST pitstop and change tyres at least twice during the race.
You don't mix up the strategies by forcing everyone to do the same number of pitstops. You MUST pitstop and change tyres at least twice during the race.

I couldn't think where I'd heard the name Albon before, then a google search brought up a pretty interesting family past. Father was a racing driver, his mother though.......
Ah yes... and wiki, etc are strangely silent on the topic...https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/sudbury-fraudster-to-b...
"while Albon was on bail during the police inquiry it was discovered the mother-of-five had also been fiddling the taxman."
I wouldn't mind being fiddled by her to be honest. Not sure why that specific taxman complained about it.

I think that Hartley this year has shown just how special F1 drivers really are. For someone like Lewiis to be driving to a Delta 4s off the cars potential race-pace is such a waste of talent. Sure they are experts at managing scarce resources, but WEC does that in a much better way.
It is pointless having 1000bhp cars that do extraordinary single laps in Q3 and then effectively potter round once they have switched-out of their Lap-1 race mode.
Forcing teams to potentially lose track position at Monaco would liven that race up many fold, it might even make the outcome unpredictable. RIC pottering round with no KERS this year without coming under any threat shows that something different is needed.
Fans should be on the edge of their seats and not seeing how a strategy worked out on the simulator is played-out.
Hartley maybe a bit bitter about being dumped:
“I also want to thank my trainer Rich and almost all of the 500 strong Toro Rosso staff who I have stood beside and have enjoyed working with this season"

He probably has some justification in feeling a tad miffed.“I also want to thank my trainer Rich and almost all of the 500 strong Toro Rosso staff who I have stood beside and have enjoyed working with this season"

The way TR and RB handle their drivers like they were a commodity makes me a bit sick. And it looks like Albon and Kvyat are another set of stop gaps for 2019.
And that's why I'm happy for Ricciardo and seeing Horner's little whiny face clearly upset over being handled like a bh made me very happy indeed (they like to dish out but they clearly can't take it).

You cant overtake at Monaco, so not really much use as a reference.
Motorsport magazineThat and the fact that it was a seriously tyre-limited race. So Ricciardo’s pursuers were having to back off hugely to keep their tyres in shape long enough to stay on a one-stop strategy and therefore not give up Monaco gold dust of track position.
If you have the tyres and the delta, you can overtake. But teams always go for a one-stop so as not to lose track position. That is much harder to manage with two-stops.

The way that Frank Williams treated drivers like interchangeable cogs, and dumped them the moment they got a WDC, used to make me sick.
And yet he was still able to attract the best - even through they had seen what had gone before. They wanted the fastest car, he would provide one and pay them, they drove it. It was a very transactional relationship, I felt mildly irked but the major characters (with significant egos and legal advice, etc) can fend for themselves.Vaud said:

I completely agree. To be honest, "mildly irked" describes my feelings far better, but I was replying in the same vein as the post I was quoting.
