He is apparently fine at sponsor events. Dry, funny, witty by accounts I have heard. it's just the mass press he disengages with?

Let's face it, phrases like "Leave me alone, I know what I'm doing" are remembered for years. What was the last memorable phrase by other drivers? I recall this one, and "Monaco baby, yeah" from Button.
"It's my favourite circuit with the best fans in the world."
Oh non sacre bleu le barrier

You mock, he may be a pain but he knows his stuff.

The infinite monkey theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type a given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare.

“Has-been” driver, joins “has-been” team?

There are just too many good young drivers for this to become a reality, with only 20-seats available. I doubt Kimi is good at pleasing sponsors / hangers-on.

Alonso has given some good quotes as well.

I'm trying to remember them, sadly the last few years have been "no power, no power"

Not quite his quote, but “Fernando is faster than you, can you understand that message” circa 2010, Massa and Smedley performance never the same again.

Another great one, and appropriately at Monaco, baby.

Interesting, Alonso to go back to Renault. Given his past career choices, that alone could see the McLaren 1 or 2 seconds a lap faster next year.

I know that it’s written by Christan Sylt, but the ramifications of this investigation may well impact on how much McLaren can afford to pay drivers / enter Indy etc.

Mrs H made the keen observation last night that Hamilton performs at his best when he has a team mate pushing him all the way, and he isn't getting that right now, and that drop off will be to other teams advantage.

Get Danny in there.

Is the Leclerc move to Ferrari confirmed anywhere yet?

Oddly, there is nothing on the Ferrari website, but I think Kimi gave the confirmation by not moving over for Seb on the last lap.

I bet there was some interesting team radio that we missed.

Did Ferrari ask him to - or is that just an assumption driven by a bit of cynicism?

To be honest, I think that if they were closer maybe, but especially at the scene of one of the more infamous examples - Vettel was too far adrift to justify a swap.

My take is that they didn't swap them because of Austria 2002 - I think it was to avoid bad PR.

You mean just because it's Austria ?

Still seems very odd to me.

When has that ever held them back from following their own agenda?

Exactly, very strange.
