It's not Button.

I'm thinking Takuma Sato - either 2003 or 04.

As for the circuit, I'd say either Hungary or Spa.

Takuma Sato ran number 10 in the BAR Honda in 2004.

The circuit is difficult, but note the car is running with cigarette sponsorship so that automatically discounts some venues.

Doesn't have the red circular lucky strike logo on the nose. That seems to limit it to certain circuits. Guess the wing angles might help too.

Have found a pic from Malaysia 2004 with car looking very similar.

Australia car also looks very similar, but doesn't seem to have the winglets on top of the air box

I think it's Darren manning. See attached link and photos wth helmet, Union Jack pattern on helmet. He was their test driver at the time whilst doing F3.

How else might it be correct? A company I worked for gave him a bit of sponsorship for F3 and a few of us went down to silverstone on a F1 test day as guests of BAR!
Most of the teams were there, we had access to the garage (two at a time guided by Darren)
Standing next to, the cars and Darren pointing out what the buttons do.
We a had an indoor Kart session hosted by him, which I won, of course.... heats and a final
My results were.... 1. 1. 2 1. 1. HA! (Didn't point out I used to do FFord n tin tops)
I asked my boss if I should lay off it a bit after two wins to keep clients happy, but he said no, go for it, I am.
Stood up close at the marshalls post at Abbey hearing a car through Stowe, it appear with a few drops of gears and turned right.. at bonkers.speed.

Any who... I won this for my Karting efforts (not the same helmet, but "supermanning" in F3.

Looks nothing like the one in the opening post!

Just an excuse to post some barely comprehensible karting story.

I'll help you out as you're struggling

OP I doesn't know who is driving the BAR in the pic he posted.
Others have suggested various names
I said it could be Darren manning (the F1 helmet has white/red/blue = Brit) as shown in LINK
I was a guest of BAR at F1 test
I won the karting event the same day organised by Darren,
my prize was the Darren manning F3 pic not same helmet at all as this has his F3 sponsors on it.

Why wouldn't I not want to include my great day out in my post all relating to BAR

Hope that helped you out with your reading.

But why would Darren Manning be wearing Takuma Sato's helmet?

It's Anthony Davidson. He did a number of test and practice sessions, but IIRC never raced for BAR/Honda - only Super Aguri a few years later.
