So Ferrari are still hanging things of the Halo (which is a safety device) what happens if a mirror ends up getting knocked off and into the cockpit then ?
Same thing could happen to a tub mounted mirror.

Now that is some wing! sperm

Also note the twin slotted t-wings

Two different Haas front wing specs

Williams

Toro Rosso

Mmm that looks like a hefty wing too **squints**

Merc front wings with larger and lesser number of main elements

It's getting crowded there...if you have to go in there you're getting scratched.

Ferrari floor

Merc cooling chimney (blocked off now)

Ferrari diffuser strakes & a less aggressive swish at the outboard end there

Could you incorperate a mirror into the halo? saving on having actual mirrors creating drag?

Gee those front wings look preposterously complicated. No wonder they can't follow the car in front.

You are all paying attention, good! wink

You guys are right, the winglet was banned but the mirror was allowed. For some reason I got it in my head that the halo mounted mirror was slightly higher than the previous chassis mounted one. The slats in the Ferrari mirrors are clear aero devices.

First glimpses of a rear wing

Not big enough! grumpy

Merc have copied McLaren style vortex generators on top of the side pods.

Is it a good idea copying McLaren biggrin

Were you not aware that McLaren have the best chassis on the grid? hehe

Like rabbits in headlights biggrin

Interesting press conference.

Lewis point about F1 not having the 100% best drivers was an interesting point.

Dig at paying drivers?

Vettel also clearly doesn't want Lewis at Ferrari biggrin

It could but if it was a tub mounted mirror it wouldn't have been attached at head height to the FIA's latest (controversial) addition that's there to protect the drivers head (yes I know the tub is also a safety feature).

Just saying that those mirrors aren't there for anything other than helping the car go faster in some way

Aren't they turning vanes rather than vortex generators to move the airflow around the airbox?

Full version is even more interesting, looks like some things were not in line with what Liberty (and majority of twitter users) wanted to hear.

Sirotkin first to kiss the barriers and damage the right rear.

Came through T19 and just hugged the inside too tight coming into the straight!

Floor damage by the looks of it.

Looking at the front wings, it makes you wonder if they ever put one car behind another in the wind tunnel to try an analyse the impact of airflow of following another car. Maybe the wind tunnels aren't big enough to do that.

Something came of Grosjeans car, nothing big, maybe he kissed the barrier, rode the kerbs too hard.

To be honest, there are 1000 brains in an F1 team all of whom have lots of experience.

If there was a way of making the car run 'effectively' in dirty air I am sure they'd have found it. The air is turbulent and difficult to use consistently - that's just its nature.

Ross Brawn’s working group has been doing that IIRC with Manor wind tunnel models.
