Is it good Monaco have put two fingers up and taken the grid girls out of retirement?

Surprised it has not been blown out of all proportions yet.
The BBC wrote about a boxers opinion on grid girls with the headline "F1 should not objectify women" and had it as the top F1 story for almost a day.
Did they mention what the drivers think about it? Namely what Louis and Vettel said during the pre Monaco press conference?

To bin it in the third practice so close to qualifying is just plain stupidity.

The risk that the car will not be ready could be extremely costly to the team.

Red Bull again have put all their eggs in one basket and they are retaining the wrong driver.
Nah a bit of T Cut and a wipe over with an oily rag and all will be well for Quali!!!eek

Max is a good case study for drivers going through the junior formula ladder rather than being thrown in at the deep end. Having said that, hes not exactly a rookie now and shouldn't be making so many mistakes. Still young though, will improve and im sure even with the errors Red Bull still believe in him.

Very strange to see Alonso struggling this weekend.

He obviously has the desire for F1 but being stuck in another car which is not on the pace must be getting to him.

I think if another seat does not appear for 2019 he will be out of F1.

DC interviewing Lauda on C4 at the moment, very interesting and a bit more of an interview of a man who has faced death than the usual old bold racer stuff.

DC does this sort of thing pretty well imho, he seems to be disarmingly nice.

How much time does that give the pit crew to repair the damage? 3hrs or so once they've got the car back?

Well quali starts in 1 hour IIRC so that's 90 minutes total they'll have. I'll be impressed if he makes it into Q3 however I'm pretty sure the RB boys (mechs) will get it done.

I used to love F1, almost obsessively. Keep a watching brief now but don't have the same interest.
My reply when anyone queries this is always that my passion for the sport really went since they put kids in them.

What are all those white fibres? Did the wheel tether fail?

I think they were part of the structure of the upper suspension arm

First noticed that after the incident initially. Thought the marshals had wrapped the suspension in clear plastic to keep carbonfibre shards contained when the car was moved. Very odd effect!

My guess is that they are fibre-optic cables attached to the camera mounted on the chassis in front of the upper suspension mount.

Better for RB that Ric starts on the front row and StrapOn starts at the back of the grid. Prob the only way to avoid another joint DNF which I guess they can’t really afford.

Both Red Bull's on the front of the grid could as you say be a nightmare.

They could/will hand the race to Ferrari/Mercedes.

Max might need a new gearbox after that so, even if if gets fixed and he qualifies well, he could get a grid penalty.
