They were 9th and 10th last year so it’s progress of sorts.

I know Haas weren’t expecting a lot from this weekend, but to be as far down as they are is pretty bad. Mind you sacrificing Monaco to have a car that works better everywhere else isn’t a bad thing
Exactly what Ham said post quali interviews, Red Bull can have this pole, Mercedes and Ham are happier to be quicker everywhere else on the calendar.

It's F1, never been about the 20 best drivers in the world.

Ham's dominance these past 4 years is equally embarrassing.
It is not even remotely ‘embarrassing’.

Not sure if you are new to the sport, but this is how Formula One works. It was the same for Mansell, Prost, Schumacher, Clark, Hakkinen, Andretti, etc etc. It’s very rare a driver’s title is won with a car that does not also win the constructor’s prize, although it did happen in 2008, when the world champion drove the car that came second in the contractor’s championship.

Want to take a guess as to which driver that was?
Was it becuase some German driver gifted Ham his place ? could've been Massa just as well.

And besides, you left out a lot of my post.

The god gifted F1 driver many make of Ham (including Ham himself) isn't reality.

Because the No.1 reason Ham won 4 times in a row is due to that three pointed star (the change in engine regulations which Merc. by far engineered the best).

Ham has a fine career, and all his career moves worked for him.
The "German driver" gifted Hamilton fk all (as you well know), been dissected ad nauseam (as you well know).

Hamilton didn't win the championship 4 times in a row, Rosberg won one, remember, you're also ignoring the fact that in 2 of those 4 years the title was decided in the last race.

I'm predicting Vettel will go to McLaren to replace Alonso, Norris will replace Vandoorne, Ricciardo will go to Ferrari with Raikkonen. Alonso to Indycar & WEC.
Apart from Vettel’s contract with Ferrari runs until end of 2020.
Contracts mean little at Ferrari.

I'm astonished at Max's driving this year. It's just not up to scratch.

If he'd entered F1 as a pay driver at the back (I'm thinking Maldonado), with his crash record he'd be the butt of all jokes.

Verstappen is a driver who is currently stting on his own career which is a shame because he is clearly hugely talented. What a prat for missing qualifying, breaking his car and now starting right at the back of the grid when he was in the best car this weekend.

Was it really so important to set the faster time than Danny in FP3. The Aussi must be laughing as the boy is beating himself before they even spin the wheels.

The rather partisan Dutchman pipes up again

Verstappen has an incredible talent but thus far he doesn’t have the brains to capitalise. His team mate has been showing him how to score points for two full seasons now but Max seems to be too pig headed to learn from him.

There will be safety cars tomorrow, looking at the grid, I'm going to make a wild prediction that it will be the back 3 rows involved. Verstappen will want through, Magnusson isn't afraid to get his elbows out, Grosjean, well who knows what Grosjean will do hehe . Other than that, Ferrari vs Mercedes for podium places, and Riccardo wins it lights to flag.

Channel 4 smashed it today- Coulthard, Webber and the Carlos Sainzes, then Chandhok in the FW07C

Chandhok “Such a lucky boy. I am such a lucky boy!”

If you think there was anything suspicious or gifted about Glock and Brazil 2008, you simply reveal that you have no understanding of this sport whatsoever. Your other glaring errors seem to support that too.

I think most people recognise that he is very talented - as I said earlier in the thread, I think that's what is keeping his seat. A lesser driver would have been demoted now, like Kvyat was.

Perhaps Verstappen is currently mentally broken? wink

Is Ferrari possible? Vettel probably wouldn't welcome him after his time at RB, but Ferrari might be unforgiving of Sebs failures last year. Sebastian seems to still get on OK with his old team, but has had lots of problems with Max, so I can't see a straight swap being an option.

McLaren would be a step back and Mercedes might be happy enough with their 1-2 drivers after the headache they had with Ham and Ros.
I doubt Vettel or Hamilton would want Ricciardo in the same team.

Hamilton still has not signed his contract so you just never know.

It does annoy you, doesn't it biggrin

My point was obviously that the diff. between Louise winning a WDC that year and losing one was by a fine margin.

And I mean a really, really, really fine margin.

I think Jos Verstappen has been racing for Red Bull in 2018.

The other thing in his favour is the egos in Red Bull management.
To demote Max now would mean Marco admitting he was wrong (again) in choosing drivers.
And that's unlikely to happen.

I don’t think he cares what people think of his decisions. Based on Max’s performance at the time it was the right choice.
