I just wish Sky would introduce a payment model that didn't require subscription to endless other packages and channels in order to get F1
Until they do that I shall continue to use alternative methods to watch F1 be that live or delayed.
NowTV? It'll be available in 1080 next season..
No different to Sky unfortunately - you need to subscribe to a sports package at £33.99 a month in order to get the F1.
You can pay £10 for 24hrs of Sky Sports, but then that works out at £20 for each race if you wanted to watch the race and qualifying.

They offered a deal at the start of the season - £150 for 9 months NowTV Sports bundle.

That's getting better for sure.. I was more thinking along the lines of a fiver a month or something similar, at that level I'd give up the alternative methods and just pay the money... at £150 a year I still think that's a bit toppy, though a lot better than the £34 a month I found on their website lol

Not going to happen at £5 a month - the offical F1 feed is considerably more than that (where available).

If Sky offered a £10pm package on top of their normal packages, for just the F1HD channel I'd take it and I bet many others would too.

Same here; I used Now TV for the first time to watch Spa live, and that was for 24hrs.

I called this back in July (fair enough, basing it on what was already going on in another country), so I'm fairly confident the format of the show will match my predictions too.

But will it be a 90 minute show as per current C4 highlights or will it only be an hour slot? big difference IMO.
Expect pretty much what C4 are offering just now ie. effectively the entire race bar a few minutes.

I am hoping they don't replicate the TV8 Italian studio experience, which is Giancarlo Fisichella or Jarno Trulli or Ivan Capelli (or all three) sat in a line behind a long desk alongside some other F1 non-entities while being shouted at from behind a lectern by a guy who looks like Max Headroom with black hair.

That's just your average Italian TV programme, isn't it. I used to watch some Rai when I was bored in the good old Satellite DXing days and their shows were always weird.

I'm still gutted that Ivan Capelli didn't win the 1990 French Grand Prix in the Leyton House, he was so close!

Well, C4 F1 do have their own Max Headroom lookalike...

Couple of worries.
Football highlights seem to be a max of 8 minutes or so but may be due to amount of matches to get through.
Highlights means delayed highlights so when is that? next day? Like news its not worth much the next day or week.
At least it will be nice to see how 2019 goes with gastly kimi and leclerc plus the mclaren newbies
Plus highlights only will mean less Kurun and his endless talking and talking.

£7.99 for 24 hours, or £12.99 for 7 days.

If the show is going to be 90 mins+ I'd love it if they went down the MotoGP route and showed a summary of the support races too, I can take or leave the build up / grid walk and a grand prix edited down to 60 minutes is probably just about ideal.

No reason why it should be any different than the current non-live C4 races in length and content. I doubt Whisper Films would want to be involved in a ten minute show shown a day or more later.

The deal between Sky and C4 goes far beyond just F1 so I wouldn't have thought C4 would have hamstrung the F1 coverage.

As a March fan from way back when my Scalextric set had a 711 with the tea tray wing that always broke off I was devastated when Prost went past him. Just looked the race up on Wiki and had completely forgotten that Subaru were an engine supplier that year (albeit a rebadged Moto Moderni).

Sounds like a good idea.
