There is a big cell just developing north of Mannheim currently tracking directly towards the circuit.
Coming from direction of turn 2 and turn 3.

Sounds like it could be a bit of a lottery with rain!

Looked like Hamilton was being very careful in the first few corners.

That Merc is just so much better than the midfield cars isn't it.
Hamilton can just throw it up the inside, confident the car has the grip and power to turn in and get him out ahead.

Yes. Seems like no point in the midfield teams putting up a fight.

Interesting Max didn't hit the apex at the start and let Kimi past - maturity starting to develop?

I'm finding it hard to engage with this race - it's slipping into background viewing. That's probably as much my fault as the race's - often races are more interesting if you follow them closely and see the race strategy unfold.

Did Ferrari just sacrifice Kimi’s race to ensure Lewis can’t close the gap to the front runners?

It's a real shame to be honest. There is no 'real' penalty for the Merc or Ferrari starting down the grid, just jeans that particular driver will finish 4th rather than podium.

Can anyone help: what tyres has Hamilton got?

6th if you have the RBs in the normal position too.

TA. A one stop for him? If there's rain, it might help with a long first stint.

Tiger's just missed a long birdie putt on the 1st, Rory's already dropped a shot but Tommy's picked one up.

Seems to be the plan - Ricciardo went for mediums but seems to be struggling for pace a bit more.

I just don't understand the fuss over this.

Why spoil your own race defending against someone like Hamilton? You'll end up slowing your pace defending and compromising your own race against your realistic competition in the midfield.
