Allowing this utter scrote to continue his career is a travesty by the MSA. Take home is "Rich kids are more important than marshalls". Well they are not.
Without the orange army, we'd never have had the opportunity to race in the first place. Sadly, money talks so the punishment for this, and e.g.Maldo's "lifetime ban" for bellendery that broke a marshalls back can just be swapped for sponsorship money.

It's a pity, just like the FA, the MSA and FiA have the opportunity and responsibility to govern who become role models for the next generation, but they always fail to do so.

Ticktum's story reminds me a bit of the Jason Humble rally driver story that ended with him killing a driver and passenger in a road rage incident. Humble's co-driver stated that Jason was a 'talented driver but without a brain cell in his head' which then proved to be true by behaving in such a horrendous way
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/rally-driver-ja...

Ticktum appears to be the ultimate entitled spoilt brat. Instagram pictures of him with his new Aston Martin outside what looks to be very expensive house does nothing to disprove it. His biggest challenge is if he makes it to F1, if he is ever involved in a fatal accident he will be lynched whether it is his fault or not.

Apparently Humble used his "rally car skills" to push the couples car. Talk about poor journalism.

Exactly.

Its disgraceful that this type of behaviour doesn't automatically result in a lifetime ban from racing

Most disappointing is that any team wants to be associated with him, and really does go to show that money is more important that moral responsibility.

I feel there has to be a path back, although there has to be some real penitence and suffering on the part of the driver. It does feel like these rich yobbos like tantrum and fenatis another have never shown real contrition.

Although, look at him, he's gone from having a trajectory into f1 to having an f1 experience in a team desperate for cash, you have to chuckle at that.

No. No there doesn't. Some things must always be beyond any form of saving throw, and this was one of them. He should have been banned for life and referred to the police for consideration of assault.

Ticktum did a knobbish thing for 30 seconds, five years ago.

Thing for me is he isn't good enough to get to F1. He has never won a car racing championship, in fact if you take away his 2nd in FIA F3 his previous best championship position was 4th in the BRDC F3 winter series, hardly the most prestigious series. He did awfully in Japanese Super Formula and crumbled in FIA F3 (although it WAS odd how Schumacher went from being relatively nowhere to near enough winning every single race after the break!).

To me he's just an alright driver who is sporadically super fast and they are ten-a-penny.

Watching F2 today it seems leopards don’t lose their spots!

Threatening other drivers over the radio for overtaking him, calling them idiots, warned for exceeding track limits as he clearly overdrove the car, apparently in his temper, locking up everywhere and destroying his tyres.

All because he couldn’t come to terms with his early mistake dropping him out of 2nd place. (Eventually ended up 15th!)

The threats and name calling all relayed on air.

I tend to agree with the commentator, he’s been very lucky, managed to come back after his ‘sanction’,as I think it was called, dropped by RB because of his childish behaviour, buys his F2 drive and even now seems intent on self harm.

Notwithstanding the fact that, despite his ability to go fast for a lap or two, he doesn’t seem to have much race craft, you just can’t see why any F1 team would touch him with a barge pole.

Williams must be more strapped for cash than I thought.

he sounded somewhere between a dashcam warrior and ronnie pickering out there today.

And yeah, totally trashed his tyres on both stints.

Yep, couldn’t have put it better myself. Really showed, as if we needed reminding. That he can’t seem to manage / control his emotions. He needs some professional help at managing / governing and focusing on, emotional control. It was embarrassing.

He’s been very, very lucky to get a second chance. A team may choose to help with that, but he has to be the one to do it for himself. Else it’s going to totally destroy his career and himself

He needs not to be racing at this level, or indeed, at all.

Historically I haven't really followed F2 but was aware of young Master Ticktum and his previous behaviour and quest for redemption.

This year, I have been watching F2 more closely (starved of motorsport generally, especially F1, and if I'm going to fork over cash to Mr Murdoch, I may as well watch as much as possible). I could not believe his outburst today - a strange mix of petulant child and backstreet thug. I was embarrassed - for him, his team, and (without wanting to sound pompous) F2 - that behaviour was being broadcast worldwide.

Edited to add: can the Stewards haul him in for a bkng for that?

He’s proven that he has learned nothing. Ok they were words and not actions, but he needs to be held to a high standard given previous actions.

The thing that makes top tier drivers stand out is they're going as fast as possible and still have mental capacity to spare. Whether the use that to think strategy, remind their mechanic to hydrate, or whatever, they can do it.

Ticktum talks a good game in the interview chair, but as described, simply reverts to type when under duress. He doesn't have "it", that elusive mix of all the right ingredients. There isn't a driver on the F1 grid I would swap him in for. Even Kimi, who is phoning it in, has more ability in his pinky that Ticktum. Hopefully F2 for one short season will be it.
