thought it was a great race. Indeed, I enjoyed about as much as any this season.
I'm with you. I would not suggest that it was a classic race, one that will be talked of for years to come, but it is worthy of being included in a season of great races that will be talked of . . . etc.

It was thoroughly entertaining. Had Vettel got past LH and then let go by KR, the race for first would have been over I think.

It was a fascinating midfield battle as well. The TV producer included a fair bit but not enough, perhaps because there was so much else going on.
I think it is a classic. An outcome not influenced by the SC and a battle and overtake for the lead - they don't come too often in F1 so savour it while you can. It's only now that I 'm appreciating Kimis drive on the second stint, going at it on the limit even if it ended up ruining his tyres. I'm not a Tifosi but I was not pleased at Ferrari's strategy to comprehend Kimi's drive.
Agreed. KR and LH overtook one another several (was it three?) times in the race, properly contesting respective places, but never looking as though either was in danger or intent of knocking the other off the circuit. It was proper racing.

Bottas made a very respectable fist of being the second hope for Mercedes and Vettel did an admirable job of recovering form last place. No safety cars, no significant changes in pit stops. All the top places were determined in free, unfettered racing.

Tyres for Singapore, looks like Ferrari have gone light in the softs again....

will soft be a race tyre here though, or the joker like the mediums at monza?

They had to make the decision on what to bring some time ago so it's not so much 'again' as the same decision, if you see what I mean.

I wonder if they are now having second thoughts. One thing is certain. They won't tell their drivers to go flat out following a tyre change.

Or should that be they won't tell Vettel?

Fingers crossed/Not Crossed on an early Safety Car then..

Certainly brings a little more interest to proceedings. I'm a Ferrari fan, but if they want to make this Italy vs England (Seb said "Inglese"), well that's another thing entirely.
It's fine they are just geeing each other up, celebrating and having a laugh with each other, of course they loved it winning at Silverstone just like Lewis at Monza, wins at the historic tracks mean a lot to them.

I'd be more irked if they showed indifference TBH.

I guess that's what Ferrari get for showing off at silverstone, Mercedes definitely returned the favour . I wouldn't read too much into it just a bit of banter
