The Official 2018 Singapore Grand Prix Thread **SPOILERS**

Interesting point about Mercedes.
I did find it strange how well the Mercedes looked after it's tyres compared to Ferrari.
Earlier in the year, the Mercedes was poor when it came to looking after it's tyres.

I'd like them to hook up a sensor to the helmet so you could see where the driver is actually looking.Deesee said:
They was rather impressive. Thx for posting

Even with all the bickering on here about stuff, it seems to show there’s a renewed interest in F1 atm which is great.
I do wish people would not just post up “what a boring race”. By all means have an opinion about Vettel's hair cut, Alonso’s legacy, Hamilton’s off piste activities or Crashy Max’s latest injustice. It’s sll part of the fun.

To be fair the Singapore race was boring.Even with all the bickering on here about stuff, it seems to show there’s a renewed interest in F1 atm which is great.

The two highlights were Sirotkin and Grosjean fighting while the leaders were trying to get through and obviously Perez trying to take out anyone who decided to pass/defend.

Just been talking to someone who was actually at last weekend's race. They left half way through. The two highlights were Sirotkin and Grosjean fighting while the leaders were trying to get through and obviously Perez trying to take out anyone who decided to pass/defend.

Street races are very difficult to follow when you are at the track I find. I have been at the last 4 Monaco Gp and never managed to watch the race completely. I always end up watching on TV. I work around there so luckily I don't waist money. I'd love to go to the US Gp. Exige77 said:
Was he a real fan or just happened to be in Singapore at the time ?
Made a special trip with some other F1 nuts . He did have pit and paddock access so that part of the weekend was enjoyable - but the race itself left him completely cold. (He's been to quite a few GPs over the years - so not a "casual" attendee by any stretch of the imagination). It's fair to say that up until the pace car, it was very exciting. The first six positions were filled, in order, by the first six on the grid. Howver:
1/ There was a fair bit going on in the midfield,
2/ the two FIs were doing what the two FIs have done for a lot of the season,
3/ Ferrari were doing what they have done for a lot of the season, throwing away any chance they had of a win,
4/ McLaren the best of the rest. How cool was that?,
It wasn't riveting, that's for sure. However, the season has been great, a cracker in fact, with few races without talking points and excitement. There was even a race that was 'old fashioned' in the sense of start, middle and end phases. A season without dull races has not happened before and I doubt it will happen in the future. We've only had a few.
There was a certain irony in that last season's race was ruined because three of the top six cars were out at the first corner. The only memorable bit being Vettel's Ferrari going backwards, cleverly representing Ferrari's season. This year's race they all got round and still there were no challenges. Verstappen closed on Hamilton but no one expected a pass.

Perhaps the FIA should get rid of blue flags. 1/ There was a fair bit going on in the midfield,

When Grosjean and Sirotkin were not paying attention it really was epic to see the leaders struggling and closing up.
I actually though Verstappen was going to go for a dive bomb but it was just at the wrong part of the circuit.
Blue flags gone would make things exciting for us fans but a nightmare for the leaders.
