Am I alone in thinking that this is easily the worst race on the calendar?

Not alone.

It's boring.

Singapore made me fall asleep too..

Think I will tape it and fast forward any boring bits.

Agreed but the same can be said of any of the current tracks. I would happily get rid of Monaco, Melbourne, and Barcelona.
Monaco will never be dropped.

But I agree that Melbourne and Barcelona should be on the list of being replaced.

I would add Hungarian, Singapore, Russian and French as well.

But IMO Silverstone is a shadow of itself.

Many tracks have been ruined over the years.
Fantastic, I did not mention any tracks and I can see a few I’d take off of the above!

I’d propose

12 race WDC

But 18 gp a year.

Put the 6 non WDC on free telly, use the ”heritage” hockenheim/silverstone/catalonya/Monaco and put 2 guest tracks on, run a 30 car grid and stick some v10/12s with the current cars for good measure, allow up and comers to gain super licence points.

Get rid of China/Bahrain/Abu Dhabi/Melbourne to start, then probably Singapore.

Look to get back Turkey and Jerez.

Regarding fewer races: It is odd that now there are 20-odd races, I don't seem to be getting all excited about a particular race. When there were fewer, the gaps were a pain, but that made each race special. I would have wished for more frequent races. But now, I can't afford that many weekends being taken up with a GP. So I miss some live. That takes some of the excitement away of the whole season.

I know it damned if they do sort of thing, but I do wish there were fewer races. 12 would make it easier to put those weekends away. 14 would be doable, whilst 16 is a bit of a stretch.

A big engine upgrade is being brought to this race by Honda, meaning that both STR cars will start at the back.

I was all excited about Spa, nearly as excited as I was about the season opener. Then again, Spa did follow the summer break, that yawning chasm of four weeks...

It's a pay per view for me so hoping it's at least a bit interesting. A shame the RBs won't be up able to mix things up at the front.

Is it the number of races or the lack of on-track excitement that’s the issue?

I think if we had much more close racing and overtaking I’d be happy with any number of races.

50% of all retirements here are 1st lap, the drivers are under instruction to get to the inside (right) of the track.

Expect safety car I’d say, and perhaps a RB podium

...except Sky aren't showing one of the races (at least not live anyway), as it clashes with the talking b*llocks in the F1 Show.

Riiight... the Saturday one (race one) is starting 30 mins delayed after lights out, however this is a 75 min presentation for a 28 lap race, of which 28 laps will be shown.. what more could you want say 30 min highlights of an hour and a half race and 95 mins of talking?

You’d end up with another Singapore and cars that ant get close enough to each other to do anything.

There’s plenty of room to change the circuit around the parklands. The original circuit was the best layout for the cars of the time, there’s a lot less restricted space than somewhere like Singapore.

Going by the pack of cars all trying to get out first in FP1 it looks like there will be a lot of engine change penalties this weekend. It really is making a farce of the "sport".
