That's them, first time they've run them since the halo was introducedDon’t like the flapping about though, although I’m sure it’s for a reason..

Vettel was in with the stewards for not slowing under the red flag, he might get a grid penalty. Ocon was put 3 places back in Japan for a similar thing. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/vettel-red-flag...
No way he’ll get a penalty, if he can hit the lead car twice under safety car and get nothing what’s a measly red flag.rscott said:
Lewis is happy - having a joke with his engineer on the way back to the pits after setting fastest lap...

Ferrari STILL not happy with the legality of the Mercedes, is it the rear wheel rims the FIA approved in Suzuka or have they found something else? Clutching at straws now
To be fair Red Bull and Williams have both fallen foul of a similar design that was subsequently banned a few yrs back.Sometimes an investigation is as good as product development.

Azerbaijan, Locks up when trying to pass Bottas for lead, drops to fourth
France, Collides with Bottas at the start and drops down the field
Austria, Blocks Sainz and demoted five places on the grid
Germany, Crashes into the barriers from the lead
Italy, Collides with Hamilton on first lap
Japan, Spins on flying lap and qualifies ninth, in the race crashes into Verstappen after ambitious overtake
USA, Fails to slow sufficiently for red flags and handed three-place grid penalty
We all make mistakes, even Lewis makes mistakes but never has Lewis lost the plot like vettel seemingly has
Germany was the issue, crashed/ binned it while in the lead, but worst of all, gave every rival photographer all the shots of the ‘former’ Ferrari floor, and also shots front and back of his sterering wheel, when the car was up in the air on a telehandler and while he was sulking in the gravel, all the discreet advantages were given away.France, Collides with Bottas at the start and drops down the field

Floor was (quietly) banned and no more secret buttons in the wheel, no more ‘cheats’.
FIA now have multiple cameras for shots in and around the cockpit, and the advantage has gone.

Wow - the Ferrari's much faster in a straight line - got that trimmed out compared to the Merc.Plus Hamilton so late on the brakes into last corner!
+ all new aero upgrades not on the car, lets see if they can put anymore into the race mode, it’s all or nothing as such.
Hamilton was perfection through the ‘s’ section.

Think Bottas might be running aero for a race rather than quali, expect him to go long stint and overcut the ferraris

The Merc is just being overdriven by Hamilton, the cars are so equal (but different). Seb and Ferrari are having to push outside of the comfort zone, hence the gambles on strategy and the pressure on Seb.
This season should have gone to the last race, but Hamilton has driven above and beyond the car.

I don’t know about faster car all round, certainly quicker in a straight line (and they tend to run lower downforce levels, which would explain that).

Isn't that what the phrase "faster car" means? That is what it means to me.This season should have gone to the last race, but Hamilton has driven above and beyond the car.
Right on that one, hence 1/2 of my second point. The other 1/2 being Ferrari haven't capitalised/been able to capitalise on their benefit.
Personally I don’t think all round over all the circuits there’s not much between the cars.
Vettels made what 8 mistakes? That have proved to be fatal.
Azerbaijan Race, Locks up when trying to pass Bottas for lead, drops to fourth

Austria Qualifying, Blocks Sainz and demoted five places on the grid
Germany Race, Crashes into the barriers from the lead
Italy Race, Collides with Hamilton on first lap
JapanQualifying, Spins on flying lap and qualifies ninth
Japan Race, Crashes into Verstappen after ambitious overtake
USA Practice One, Fails to slow sufficiently for red flags and handed three-place grid penalty
Hamilton’s made one? (spinning the wheels at silverstone on the start and not getting away clean, then having contact with Kimi) then at the back finishes 2nd.
Merc were not to clever with strategy in Melbourne (vsc) and really did not shine in Austria.
Gearbox penalty in Bahrain, and finishes on the podium.
Germany (quali F up) starts 14th & wins.
