Sorry, we couldn’t get accommodation, so didn’t actually book tickets, was supposed to be a last minute thing, it’s now the 2nd time the trip has not come off, so will be planning it way earlier next time.
I am sure Nashville will be fun, just would have preferred a GP instead.
There is plenty of accomodation in Austin, i could book a room for 2 people for tomorrow through sunday night for £180I am sure Nashville will be fun, just would have preferred a GP instead.
Ferrari asked the FIA questions about the Mercedes rear wheels and hubs, FIA said they were fine. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/mercedes-wheel-...

Either be German, or be British, and ditch the phoney national anthem.
The FIA should ditch the national anthems on the podium. We've had drivers with dual nationality who've suddenly become 100% of the lineage that helps them get a seat. Tony Vandervell said something along these lines about jingoism. We've had teams change nationality and nothing else. That's farcical.

Playing national anthems when no-one is actually representing their country always seemed a bit odd, and with modern teams and drivers being so "multinational" it looks even odder. rev-erend said:
Changeable conditions, maybe a wet race.
Excellent, that will make it very interesting. Not what Hamilton wants, could spring a few surprises.
I’d imagine the opposite, HAM knows he’s the strongest in wet and changeable conditions and what better way of winning the championship than with another lesson in car control by him?Excellent, that will make it very interesting. Not what Hamilton wants, could spring a few surprises.

So what do you suggest instead? Do they just stand there in silence, or should they be allowed to choose their own theme song?
No idea really. Just the national anthem of the host nation maybe, followed by the usual fizzy drink spraying? To be honest I find the whole podium thing so cringe-worthy these days that I turn the TV off before it happens anyway. What do they do in other multinational solo/team sports where a country is not being represented?

In reality, they are representing their countries though. Maybe not 'officially', but you're still going to get the Mexicans cheering on Perez, Aussies cheering on Ricciardo etc. thegreenhell said:
