I have seen nothing that suggests that Rich Energy is anything other than a sham.

Dodgy website, accounts that show no turnover of any significance, let alone profit, no product on sale etc.etc.

It all screams dodgy as anything, but I’d assume Williams have done some decent due-diligence, or are they that desperate that they’ll use anyone to make it look like they are attractive to sponsors to others?
Aside from your comments being potentially libellous, it is common to play sponsors off each other if you have multiple interested parties as it drives the price up, not down.
Libellous? I don't think so old bean. Have a look at their entry on Companies House and come back and tell me if they seem the sort of organisation that has the set-up to produce these drinks in the quantities required to support the costs of being an F1 sponsor...

Their website has been updated since I last looked at it and it does appear they are now supplying into hotels and bars, so there is a bit more than their website as a sales channel, but I still question their ability to fund sponsorship of an F1 team.

If Williams are using them as a tool to show interest and drive additional sponsorship, then as I say, fair play to them, but I get a strong whiff of merde de cheval about them. F1 has always attracted charlatans and dreamers. I guess Williams will have dealt with them many times in the past!
Well I guess Haas aren't so bothered by them it seems: https://www.haasf1team.com/news/news-rich-energy-a...

Interesting development. The judge in the Force India administration case dismissed these guys very quickly as not being credible investors. Hopefully Haas have actually seen some money, or evidence of it existing at least.

Maybe, maybe not. The word is that BWT could be switching from FI to Williams.

I recall this fellow saying he had lots of zillionares in the shadows desperate to sponsor (move money through) something. Russia maybe ksa?
Maybe williams decided it was too dodgy in the current climate.
Haas should be ok as trump has already said he doesnt care about anything as long as he gets a tickle.

The good news is it seems like Williams next year will either be Russell with Ocon or Kubica. Personally I'd never heard of the rich energy drinks, surprised they've got so much money.

Fair play to them then. Maybe there is more to Rich Energy than initially met the (admittedly cynical) eye.

When Hype was launched in the 90s, it attracted a huge amount of investment funding - almost all of which was spent on motorsports sponsorship. The reason behind this was to rapidly build brand recognition and open up lucrative distribution channels via connections made as a result of their involvement in the sport. i.e...through their sponsorship with Benetton, they developed a relationship with AutoGrill (then the Italian version of Little Chef), Hilton Hotels (then a McLaren sponsor), etc.

I don't know if Rich Energy is using the same approach but there does seem to be some similarities.

A can of red bull pretty much tastes the same as one of those 25p ones from the supermarket.
I guess you have to spend big on marketing like redbull to get noticed and become the first choice.
Sponsorship cant be coming from any profits so maybe promises promises.
Williams have a rich and respectable history to protect so maybe a bit too risky.
For all force india's sponsorship blurbs all over the car they were still broke so why is anyone getting excited about bwt.

But Russian money from individuals and companies with US sanctions against them is okay.

I'd disagree with that, I don't drink the sugar filled ones but regularly have the Zero or sugar free ones and the brands are worlds apart from the cheap supermarket ones. Recently had a sugar free Lidl one and it was completely undrinkable and I'm known for eating and drinking just about anything!

If you ever flick through the guide on the TV you'll regularly see one of the shopping channels flogging Williams car care products which IMO isn't the kind of place a company with a rich and respectable history would be selling. It's actually pretty council really!

Williams are probably holding out for a deal with Hertz so they can add their cars to their rental booking system and save a few quid on paperwork.

I hope for Haas' sake, the money has changed hands before the deal was announced.

Is he now? I thought he wanted Hilary to go to jail for exactly that in 2016?

Could we get some of the super smart sleuths on PH to do some corporate investigating on Rich Energy to see what is real/possible/made up?

Haas are smart business people. They will have done their due diligence and looked for proof of funds.

If not then contract clauses will kick in and it will terminate,

I’m sure you are right, but a company with minimal assets and turnover suddenly title sponsoring an F1 team is odd.
