Weather looks good this afternoon but still an 80% chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday I see.

+1. They are on fine form tonight. Crofty/Crofto or whatever he is called and Ted prattling on about chicken and "jokes" about curry etc. Do they actually get paid for talking such drivel? Then a timely advert break as Lewis does his first fast lap. I know it is only FP1 but surely they can talk about the cars and drivers and track rather than their "entertaining" chat about nothing in particular.

At least “Crofty” besides talking crap can actually commentate on a race. Kravitz is just childish, irritating, and brings nothing to the sport at all. You can cut the cringe with a knife when he’s trying to be funny doing interviews and the like.

I try to be tolerant of people but there’s something about this guy that rubs me up the wrong way. Wish he’d get run over in the pit lane and put out of action for the remainder of the season. Nothing too serious. Broken ankle will do.

Good God Mclaren are nowhere. RBR and Renault are 1/4, Mclaren are 15th and 16th...
But haven't they shifted everything to 2019? Whereas the midfield is still tight so worth continuing to develop the car to some extent?

Same. It turns out I haven't paid much if any attention to this race over the last couple of years.

Didn't they use that excuse last year too? And the year before for that matter.

If anything RBR have far more reason to swap their focus onto next year's car. They have a brand new engine with all the packaging issues that entails and they're in a solid third in the constructor's championship with no chance of catching second or being caught by third.

How I love it when C4 covers a live race. Whenever Crofty & gang start talking crap that has little to do with racing....it’s straight over to C4. Wish my remote had a mute commentary button .

F 1.5 league table

For a split second I thought there was an entire category of racing I’d never heard of.

In reality it’s a bit depressing because it’s absolutely true.

Renault were very clear that they knew it was going to take them a number of years to become competitive. I seem to remember that their stated aim for this year was to be best of the rest after the top three teams, which they seem to have just about achieved. Next year I guess they'll be hoping to close the gap to the top three but I suspect it'll be a question of aiming for a solid fourth rather than expecting to catch Redbull let alone Mercedes and Ferrari.

Mclaren are just... Mclaren.

Absolutely matched and close! The midfield battle is what we should all be watching.

All done and dusted for Lewis. Will likely be the same as last season though.

Wow!! Those tyres are shocking. Hope things aren't starting to go wrong for Lewis, now he's so close to sealing the title 😫

Verstappen's car died.

Horner thinks possible Hydraulics problem and not another Renault failure.

Seb is only winning this with breakdowns.
