Has anyone done the calculations on what Merc / Ferrari need to win the WCC?

To keep it alive Ferrari need to score 12 more points than Mercedes here. So a Merc win would prevent that. If Mercedes score 31 points or more over the next 2 races then it's theirs even if Ferrari finish 1,2 in both.
The bookies think it's already over.

Don't know why there has been all this talk about Hamilton handing a win over to Bottas- I bet nobody wants to see a win gifted and that will include Bottas himself.

It's all moot as this is not particularly a Lewis or a Mercedes track so Lewis / Bottas 1&2 is unlikely anyway.

Bottas is good around the Abu Dhabi circuit but I think he might have a tough time beating the Ferraris there.
Indeed. In fact Hamilton has said that neither he nor the team plan to gift a win to Bottas, and likewise Bottas has said he doesn't want to win that way.

Merc not to run the controversial (fia approved) wheels in Brazil.

Red Bull getting the boot into Dani Ric early this weekend, new turbo, so grid penalty’s for him.

I like Will Buxton; miss the combination of him and Davide Valsecchi commentating on GP2 from a few years back.

It’s Grand Prix weekend again. YES!

Very much hoping Mercedes secure the WCC title. It’d be nice to see Bottas do the honours for them but really, I want Lewis to win biggrin

Any racing driver would take any win, gifted or otherwise.

If it’s a clear 1-2 for merc with the cars being close then Lewis should do the decent thing and let Bottas past.

It would do wonders for Lewis in the pr department.

Bottas is on record as saying he doesn’t want a gifted win.

Don't agree, it'll just look condescending. Not good for Ham, Bot or Merc.

In my view a handed win to Bottas here goes against the spirit of racing. The WDC is already secured and no one should want to see an unnecessary gifted P1. Least of all Bottas. Certainly if it were me I’d regard it as incredibly condescending and would probably hand the lead back again biggrin

Have to agree. We’ve already seen one unnecessarily gifted P1, though that wasn’t handed back.

You only need to see Lewis’s reaction when he was gifted the race. It sucks.

Once the team understand where their performance is today, I still feel it would be better to give Lewis a development engine for the last couple of races - that will allow Valteri to prove himself.

For the moment, Mercedes are going to do everything in their power to win the WCC.
