Alonso's McLaren will have a one off livery with his helmet colours for his last race.

What is the colour scheme for the good by to Stoffel?
Very good point.

I don't think it is, particularly.

People make me laugh arguing for a goodbye livery for stoffel and sirotkin. We’re talking about F1 saying goodbye to a great in Alonso not a couple of young drivers with no achievements of note.

Get a grip

One is a double world champion, highly regarded by pretty much everyone in the sport whose had a long career mostly at the very top of the sport. The other is barely more than a rookie whose off to join the other F1 rejects in Formula E after underperforming and being utterly crushed by the double world champion team mate.

It really isn't a good point

Big send offs are reserved for champions or long term, high respected racers - Alonso, Massa, etc

Who was the last driver to get a special livery before this? Don't remember Massa getting one. Was it Coulthard?

I see that Max still hasn’t learned from his or his dad’s mistake. I thought he might be a little humble and apologetic towards Ocon...however it appears he’s to pig headed for that!

Sorry I wasn't talking about liveries - I meant more about classy send offs.

Massa got a very dignified pit lane standing ovation.

I get that, wasn't just talking liveries myself but it just occurred to me that it's the first we've had in a while!

Coulthard had the white car with the Wings For Life charity on it, Massa had his name on the Martini logo and Obrigado on the rear wing.

1 is only on the nose. Still 44 on the rear bodywork, apparently. I wouldn't be surprised if this was just for FP, and he'll revert to 44 for Q and the race.
surprised he hasn't brought out a special edition hat to note it.

I agree.

It's not as if Dame Judy is finally retiring after 50 years service.

Alonso's is well deserved, just a shame he doesn't get to throw a cream pie into the face of Bernie Ecclestone as Schumacher did biggrin

The 'dust' that Ben Edwards kept going on about, was the underneath of the floors being shredded. Well some of it. Looked brutal. Not sure concrete is the best choice.

The fia should have kept the rubber ‘Verstoppons’, concrete at these speeds with the tyre heat/friction not good.

Although as we know they won’t be used in the race in Sunday the cars won’t get close to them as the cars go slower in the race.

That's the question.

Newey is not know for his willinghess to make concessions. How much faith we can put in Renault's protestations that the packaging starves their engine of whatever is open to question at the moment, although the package has been more reliable in other chassis.

We all accept the genius that is Newey, but are the regulations now so tight that he doesn't make as much difference?

I can't help thinking that any change in aero regs will play to RB but will the Honda engine - improved or not - be enough to get them in the top six again?

It's going to be an interesting season. Just a shame it won't be FTA.

Compare RBR to Renault, STR, McLaren. No, no difference at all... smile
