Cryptic question - who knows their F1?

The Lancia D50 could have been a good car had it been developed more, but Lancia lost interest in it and packed up when Ascari died. However they did pass on a lot of their equipment to Ferrari - the Lancia Ferrari that Fangio used to win the '57 championship owed quite a lot to it.
Then the following year, he won the championship in a Maserati.
Remember that the vast majority of racing cars never win even a single championship. Nor, indeed, a race.
Lancia were in big financial trouble and couldn't afford to develop the D50 properly - which is a pity because it was a lovely car with great potential. It actually did OK when taken over by Ferrari. Then the following year, he won the championship in a Maserati.

I think the clue is in the 'as a result of this year' part of the question.
Looking at constructors race wins at the end of last season we had:
1 Ferrari 229 wins
2 McLaren 182 wins
3 Williams 114 wins
4 Lotus 79 wins
5 Mercedes 76 wins
Looking at constructors race wins at the end of this season we have:
1 Ferrari 235 wins
2 McLaren 182 wins
3 Williams 114 wins
4 Mercedes 87 wins
5 Lotus 79 wins
Therefore the question comes down to who has driven for Ferrari, Williams, Lotus and McLaren, but no one else.
As a couple of posters have already said... Mansell!

Must be Mansell. My initial guess of Ickx as s potential name can’t be right, because as well as the top four I’d forgotten he also drove for Ensign and Ligier (and a couple more according to a check just now on Wikipedia).Looking at constructors race wins at the end of last season we had:
