Point to something that shows I wish them to fail. I'm aware simply discussing the possibility they might is itself sufficient to upset some people.

They weren't in good shape before all this, and it was getting hard already to see their long term future without some major changes in how the team operates - but It would be beyond sad to see Williams fall apart in a year where they didn't even go racing.

Have you looked at the Report & Accounts for Williams Grand Prix Holdings?

There is more to Williams than just F1 racing.

Definitely. Even at the very least he could step in for Williams and help them. 2021 will see Celebrity Coffee Williams Racing.

Yes, I'm not too worried for them. They own the site and have other revenue streams. They don't have a billionaire sugar daddy but Frank still has his train set.

Lets just hope he doesn't catch the virus
Frank is fine.

You've been slagging off Williams for a very long time, your posts read like you're excited by the drama of a business trying to survive.

Why can't you just wait and see what happens rather than your sustained and continuous speculation?

It's a thread on an internet discussion forum, where the purpose is, erm, discussion.

You've had sand in your vagina on PH ever since your Motorsport activities were curtailed. I've always been a contrary, miserable tt but you're normally much more amenable. Hope you're not too stressed and normal service can be resumed for all ASAP.

I assume they are one of the two possibly four teams tha tZac B says are in danger of collapse; Williams, Haas, Alfa (sauber) and Torro Rosso as was? "Circling round the plughole"

I think much of what Zac said was directed at Liberty and the FIA.

I assume he sees that the non manufacturer teams are in a much stronger position politically (if not financially). I accept that McLaren is also a manufacturer now, but hardly mainstream.

The manufactures will be more concerned with not building cars, witnessing the full downside of just in time management, their workforce and their investors. F1 will not command their full attention and there will have to be some re-evaluation of the benefits of F1, the world going forward will not be the same place as pre COVID.

If you also accept that selling designer clothes is not going to be as profitable as it was and Aston Martin is not looking like a well timed investment, Stroll may be checking his Bank Statements more closely.

Gene Haas appears disillusioned and is likely to be selling many less machine tools going forward.

Red Bull and TR as was are at the whim of one man who has made it clear he is prepared to pack his suitcase.

So assuming Bahrain and Ojay still have cash and FW can keep afloat they are Liberty's safest bets and need looking after smile

They have seemingly remortgaged pretty much everything they own to keep going.

To be fair, i've been a grumpy bugger on this thread well before CV19 hit, i just don't like people kicking a team when they are down, i see it as destructive behaviour.

They would have had to refinance having sold WAE, the asset base having changed. As I said above the charge HSBC had has been satisfied.

We don't know whether the Russian offered a better deal than HSBC or whether HSBC wanted out.

The HSBC charge was over everything, the new charge more specific so they are now offering less security against their loans.

The story can spin both ways smile

While I would love to see the team back on top, I just feel that they are grasping at very fine grains of sand.

I just feel that it’s a case of “when” and no longer “if”, and that is very sad for every F1 fan. I wold have much preferred for a Frank and family to have just moved-on.

The devil in the detail will be the terms. IIRC the HSBC finance was pretty short-term, creating an inflection point around maturity. If this is longer-dated that would be for the best.
